Going through some photos for my new website has got me finding some great stuff, like this severed ear! Everything from casting the ear to running it in silicone and painting was done by myself. Complete with a hook and everything for convenient hanging!

Here are a closer look at the teeth I sculpted, cast, and ran for my IMATS L.A. Battle of the Brushes charter, Charles the ventriloquist! I designed these to be rotting and gnarly, to really add to the creep factor.

The second photo is the process of making the positive that I was able to sculpt he teeth on.

Being back in Vancouver has got me reminiscing about bringing home the first place battle of the brushes in October!

It was so exciting and now I’m ready for all the new, and exciting adventures this time around!

I’m so excited for everyone who gets to compete at battle of the brushes this weekend New York! Though I was selected, I am unable to attend but this is the character that would have been unveiled! A super sax man with hair lace mohawk and moustache tied by me, along with the costume being hand sewn and bejeweled by myself!

This character was done with the guidance of some truly amazing artists!

We brought home SECOND PLACE!! From first being picked to compete at IMATS LA to sewing the whole costume, running the dummy’s head in silicone, with all the teeth making, hair punching and hand tying of hair, to getting my parents and myself down there. So much work and effort was put into this and I am so happy to be representing internationally!

With the theme of misfits, I presented the character of Charles and his dummy Charlie, Charles became a ventriloquist only to fall in love with his dummy, Charlie, so much that he has started to become a dummy and slowly bringing Charlie to life!

Horace, he is a crazy inventor who later in life decided he wanted to be a high altitude mountain climber, but with no skills he tried to modify his equipment to help him on his way! Here is my character for Battle of the Brushes at IMATS Vancouver, which brought me first place!
In the three hour time, I managed apply and paint a bald cap, apply 3 foam latex prosthetics, a chin piece, a right eye socket and a bolted on piece of metal, along with hand laying that big ol’ beard and an eyebrow!
The amazing costume was hand sewed by myself, and my amazing father created the leg brace and breathing apparatus. And thanks so much to my mom for all the help, it sure was a team effort!
