Based out of Victoria, British Columbia. Rosaline (Rose) lives in Victoria, B.C.... dubbed The City of Gardens. As a child she grew up in the forest.
She is a retired Early Childhood Educator, an artist and a lover of nature. She found companionship and solace in trees and nature. Her 2016 children's picture book entitled "Laura Lamb Finds the Forest" is about a lonely little lamb who finds her way into the forest. There she finds companionship in nature. I loved the book. The illustrations are wonderful and the story is so beautiful. I could feel Laura’s loneliness and her hesitation and excitement as she sets out on her new adventure to find friends. Her sense of belonging in the forest is one I know well, feeling awe and wonder and finding happiness and friends who are different from her but all part of this beautiful planet. And then when she is called home and summoned from her reverie, I love that she is unable to articulate the depth of her experience. It makes it almost like a secret, a treasure that is hers alone. It is a beautiful story.

This is a sweet book for young children, and focuses on the quiet beauty of nature, importance of community and family bonds. The colourful illustrations are endearing and create a certain 'movement' on the page. This book also prompts good questions from little people about how we can interact with nature.

The Dickens Fair is one of Victoria’s oldest and best-loved Holiday Craft Fairs. Our juried local artisans offer a great variety of quality and affordable products that will appeal to everyone.
Copies of ‘LAURA LAMB FINDS THE FOREST’ will be available on the Victoria Writers Society table. Tell your friends it is a great gift for children age 2-6. Adults too, they love the art work and the message of connecting children to nature.
