Alain Couture is the 2026 recipient of the Peter Stachnyk Merit Award. He’s in his 24th season with the Winnipeg Football Club in 2026, overseeing the health and well-being of every player on the roster as the Director of Health and Performance – Head Athletic Therapist.

From teaching student therapists to mentoring current RMTs, Alain has made a substantial impact in the massage therapy field. His unwavering support for the profession is evident in his various roles.

When it comes to promoting the health benefits of massage therapy during Massage Therapy Awareness Week and advocating for the benefits of MTAM membership, Alain has always stepped forward. He champions evidence-informed practice, values ongoing professional development, and actively participates in our provincial association and professional community.

Coming up in October, Vodder Level 2 Applied MLD is being offered at MTAM’s Education Center.

This four-day classroom course is designed for those therapists whose primary focus is not patients with lymphedema.

If you have your Vodder Level 1, register now to continue your education to get your certification in Applied MLD from the Dr. Vodder Academy/School - International.

Level 3, Advanced Body, Lymph Taping, and Therapy Update are all coming in 2027!
