This has been very relevant to me. Working in the NHS as my day job, I have been going to work and helping with the re- organisation to accommodate this virus. I have been asking the practitioners I know if they would like to offer distance reiki to NHS staff. I think it would also be great if at some point, hands-on reiki were deemed an appropriate option to give to staff for their wellbeing along with counselling services. I don't expect anyone in the NHS to rush anything like this through and for it to just let any practitioner onto its books or into the hospital for staff or patients. One day at a time though. If anyone knows anyone who works in the NHS who would like to be added to a practioner's healing list, please let me know. I am doing my best to send reiki to this situation. I know of other practitioners who are setting up Facebook groups to do group healings and to let people who want reiki be added to their lists.

I thought that this page was somewhat scheduled for deletion but obviously not! It's not that I gave up on reiki, I just wasn't a business at such. I am currently participating in shares at the Flamingo Centre on Southmead Road. Check it out if you are interested.

Currently experimenting with dharma mudhra which my yoga teacher asked the class to do last night. If you Google the finger positions, it is apparently good for clearing your mind and promoting optimism and balancing your inner and outer worlds.

The reiki Meet Up group that I was a member of has been wound up because the organiser stepped down. She may resume this group by Facebook which wouldn't require paying a subscription to Meet Up. I have offered to help her with this if she does and might have offered to step up to organise the Meet Up group myself had I suitably sized premises. In the meantime, does anybody here hold reiki shares that I may be able to join? You can message me privately if you would rather not post publicly. As a practitioner, it is always good to talk. Certainly when I first became attuned at 29, I needed mentoring as I was almost scared of my ability to heal but at 42, I may be able to help others or of course still learn. I liken being attuned to reiki as having passed your driving test but then you need to go out and drive alone. Managing your impact on others is a big part of healing.

I haven't posted for a while because I promised myself and my friends that I would not turn weird on this page! One healing I did recently involved helping someone deal with the grief that they felt over the anniversary of their friend's sudden death. Reiki can act as a bit of a telephone line sometimes giving those who have died and those who are still living the chance to feel connected or pass on messages. A lot depends on how open minded the individuals involved are but some recipients of reiki have said that they have heard their loved ones voices telling them what to do about certain situations or have just felt comforted. It is always a privilege to help people in this way and to be chosen as a channel as such by someone who has passed on. I personally believe based on the spiritual experiences I have had that people who have died do start new lives somewhere else but still have a recognisable presence to love ones. I have heard others say similar things i.e. it was the same person but they were different. Younger looking or talking in such a way as to suggest that they had been doing different things. Anyway weird post over but it is my reiki page!

The reiki Meet Up group set up by my friend Karoona has recommenced after the summer. We are trying to keep it going with regular meet ups at 5.30pm on the first Sunday of each month in Cotham so if anyone who is definitely attuned to reiki would like to join us for shares, please get in touch.

I am still working out how I feel about my five year old niece knowing that I do reiki. I would also want my friends' children's parents to be on board. My main concern is to protect my niece and her parents because school is probably hard enough without a mad aunt and concerned other parents! However, one thing that I have found is that if children think that I am being weird, they will tell me! They certainly don't mind reiki when they aren't very well. I certainly wish that I had, had reiki in my back pocket at an earlier age than 29. However, is that part of me wishing that I had known what I know now? Wanting perfection etc. All perhaps very unrealistic!

I have just come back from my Meet Up reiki share where I talk and receive reiki from other practitioners. It is good to surrender to another practitioner and their energy and approach as each person is different. Today, I met another practitioner and she told me that she wanted me to have her earrings. I thought you know what, you should have mine. So we exchanged as if to keep each other's help/energy close. She is off to live in Canada and I may never see her again but I shall always remember her and her advice to me now.
