One of the hardest lessons in leadership is that avoiding a necessary firing can punish every excellent person who stayed. Compassion matters, but allowing chronic incompetence or destructive behavior to continue is not kindness when the whole team keeps paying for it.

If customers repeatedly misunderstand your product, stop calling them stupid. Confusion is information. Sometimes the product is wrong, sometimes the positioning is wrong, and sometimes your team is communicating for insiders instead of the people actually paying.

I used to think every profitable opportunity deserved pursuit. That was immature. Some money comes attached to distraction, legal exposure, reputational damage, terrible partners, or years of complexity. Revenue is not automatically good revenue.

I’ve learned that being desired and being valued are two very different luxuries.

This is your reminder that self-control is a personal responsibility 😏

I stopped watering connections that only bloomed when they needed something.

If confidence makes people uncomfortable, let them adjust the chair.
