The baby I had in 2013
is going to be a teenager this year.

A teenager.

And I still remember the day I held them for the first time,
wondering who they would become,
never imagining how fast we would get here.

I remember the tiny clothes.
The late nights.
The first steps.
The first words.
The way their hand used to fit perfectly inside mine.

I blinked…

and now they’re taller, louder, stronger,
with opinions, dreams, and a whole world of their own.

They were just a baby on my chest.
Now they’re standing on the edge of growing up.

The baby I had in 2013
is becoming a teenager this year
and my heart is still trying to catch up to time.

Esto va dedicado a todos los migrantes que vinimos a USA 🇺🇸 : Festeja tú que has logrado tú sueño americano, sin tener estatus, sin saber el idioma, tú que has formado una familia aquí, tú que has construido tú empresa y eres generador de empleos y que no te has rajado.

Tú que has comprado tu primer casa, tú primer carro, festeja, el 4 de julio, tú que le has dado a tus hijos un grado universitario, cuando tal vez tú no tuviste la oportunidad de estudiar.

Celebra tu que viste a tus hijos nacer en este país, y que tienes años llamando a este país tu hogar 🏡

Por qué no celebrar el 4 julio? si tú has logrado tú sueño americano. Cada quien tiene su motivo por el cual celebrar.

Celebrar la independencia del país en el que vives no es traicionar a tú país es simplemente, agradecimiento y respeto a la patria que nos acogió.
