There is so much noise around carnivore.

With all the different approaches, opinions, and “right ways” to do carnivore, it can feel confusing fast.

Especially when you’re already not feeling your best and just want something to actually work.

That’s exactly where I got stuck in the beginning.

What finally helped was shutting out the noise and keeping things simple and consistent. And that got me to stop trying to follow everything I was seeing.

And that’s when it started to feel clear instead of overwhelming.

Yes, I stole these habits and here are the ones I’m keeping (and the one I’m not)

• They eat meals that actually fill them up.
They’re not finishing a meal and still thinking about what else they can have.
• They don’t go looking for something after they eat.
They eat, and they’re done. There’s no constant “what else can I have” loop.
• They keep things simple.
They stick to a few foods they know work and repeat them.
• They’re not relying on willpower all day.
They’re not standing in the kitchen trying to talk themselves out of a “treat.” The pull just isn’t there the same way.
• They don’t finish their kids’ leftovers to “save on waste.”
They’re not standing there eating bites off the plate at the sink. They just leave it, because they’re done.

The one I’m not keeping…
• They keep trying to eat vegetables even when they can tell it’s not sitting well.
I stopped doing that.

I’m 44 and I eat meat, butter, and salt… and I’m really scared to admit that.

Not because it doesn’t work.

But because I know how it sounds.

I know what I used to believe about food. I know what I was told was “healthy.” And I know how hard it is to question that when your body isn’t feeling good.

But I got to a point where I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

I was tired, uncomfortable, and hurting from the foods I was eating. Even the ones that were supposed to be “good for me.” I didn’t even want to eat half the time because I knew how I was going to feel after.

So I kept things simple.

And that’s when things started to shift.

I wasn’t dealing with the bloating and discomfort after every meal. I wasn’t sitting there regretting what I just ate or trying to figure out what I could have instead. I could eat, feel okay in my body, and move on without thinking about it all day.

It’s not about doing something extreme. It’s about paying attention to what actually works for your body, even if it goes against what everyone thinks you should be doing.

I know this isn’t what most people expect. And I know it gets judged.

But feeling better was more important than trying to make it make sense to everyone else.

Doesn't it look like I got in a fight?!? 😱 Thanks to the cold winter air and all the hot water, dish washing, my knuckles are on the brink of bleeding. 😔 Anyone else suffer with this?? To help soothe the skin, I'm massaging a drop of Sandalwood and Jasmine in a pool of FCO into my hands. It's so nourishing and they smell amazing together! (If you don't have Jasmine, Lavender is a great substitute). Here's to fighting winter skin!

Fireworks are big in Germany and have been going off since 3pm. 😳 Not all animals love them, so I always like to share some oils that help calm your pets when it gets a little loud outside. Diffuse 1-2 drops of any in their room - keep a door open for egress and ventilation - and help your pet ease into the new year with you. I hope you have a fantastic end to your 2016 and can't wait to see what's in store for all of us!! Happy New Year!! ❤❤❤

Sore throats were wanting to linger in this house but I put a quick stop to it with this salve! I whipped it up with natural, unscented lotion (love amish country soap co) and rubbed it on both of our throats a few times a day. After day one, it was less. Day two, I was asking, 'what sore throat!' and by Day FOUR my hubby's faded away (his sickness is a lot more stubborn than mine!)
It's so easy to make.
8 drops Sandalwood
5 drops Melaleuca
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Lemon
3 drops Frankincense
mix with 2oz of an unscented lotion and store in it's own sealed container. This is some good stuff and is my go-to when I feel my throat beginning to get sore. It's also great and gentle on littles' throats as well. Who's needing some this week??

We've been battling quite the sickness in this house with lots of stuffiness involved. I've lathered Breathe V***r stick over both our chests, necks, and backs non-stop and it's does wonders for our breathing! The man LOVES it before bed and I'm not complaining one bit when he asks for it!
I'm also diffusing AND applying Breathe and Lime together for extra breathing relieve and love love love this combo to help promote clear breathing through our noses. It's such a sweet relief after mouth breathing...which nobody enjoys. 😏

Who wouldn't want to study in this library?? 😍 This is the coolest library I've ever been in and can be super distracting since all I want to do is look around. 😁 I had to bring along my InTune (Focus blend) to stay on track with reading and w/the tiniest swipe on my wrist, I stayed in the zone.
InTune is so great at helping you stay focused when you need to concentrate and get things done! It's what I reach for most when I'm needing to stay in the zone for my schoolwork. Who's a fan of InTune?

It's been quiet here because we took a little trip to Vienna and I had little wifi! How gorgeous is this building?! We absolutely loved it there, biking through vineyards and hills, drinking loads of Viennese Melange coffee and eating gobs of food. What could make a trip any better, right?
