Hypotension
Hypotension, or low blood pressure, is when your blood pressure’s much lower than expected. It can happen either as a condition on its own or as a symptom of a wide range of conditions. It may not cause symptoms, but when it does, it can require medical attention.
Hypotension has two definitions:
- Absolute hypotension: Your resting blood pressure is below 90/60 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).
-Orthostatic hypotension: Your blood pressure remains low for longer than three minutes of you standing up from a sitting position. (It’s normal for your blood pressure to drop briefly when you change positions, but not for that long.) The drop must be 20 millimeters of mercury or more for your systolic (top) pressure and 10 millimeters of mercury or more for your diastolic (bottom) pressure.
How does low blood pressure affect my body?
Usually, your body can automatically control your blood pressure and keep it from dropping too much. If it starts to drop, your body tries to make up for that, either by speeding up your heart rate or constricting blood vessels to make them narrower. Symptoms of hypotension happen when your body can’t offset the drop in blood pressure.
What are the symptoms of low blood pressure?
The most common low blood pressure symptoms happen because your brain isn’t getting enough blood flow. These include: dizziness or feeling lightheaded, nausea, fainting or passing out, blurred vision, fast or shallow breathing, fatigue.
What medications/treatments are used?
The most important thing for a provider treating low blood pressure is to find the underlying cause and correct it. Treatments can range from simple IV fluids to antibiotics to surgery or even a heart transplant. Some people with low blood pressure need a hospital stay.

Hypertension
Hypertension can be diagnosed by accurate and frequent blood pressure measurements. The blood pressure categories include normal blood pressure, referred to as a systolic pressure of less than 120 and a diastolic pressure of less than 80. Slightly elevated blood pressure is referred to as a systolic pressure of 120 to 129 and a diastolic pressure of less than 8
A hypertensive episode is a sudden, severe rise in blood pressure. It has a blood pressure of 120/180 mm Hg or higher. It is a medical emergency. It can lead to a heart attack, stroke, or other life-threatening health problems.
First aid for high blood pressure
Try to relax and take deep breaths. Stress and anxiety can raise your blood pressure, so taking some time to calm down can help lower it.
Do breathing exercises that slow your heart rate and promote relaxation.
Drink water, as dehydration can cause high blood pressure.
Get some physical activity. Walking or doing some light stretching can help lower your blood pressure.
Eat some dark chocolate, as dark chocolate contains flavonoids, which help lower blood pressure.
Have a cup of hibiscus or chamomile tea, as this helps to feel calm, and black tea or coffee should be completely avoided at this time.
Take a cool shower. Cold water can constrict blood vessels, which can lower blood pressure.
What happens to the body when eating sugar? And what is sugar in the first place? And what is its harm?
what sugar
Sugar is a simple form of carbohydrate that contains monosaccharides, such as fructose, found in fruits, galactose, found in dairy products, and disaccharides. Sucrose, table sugar, and the lactose found in dairy
What happens to the body when you eat sugar?
Olga Nechaeva warns that excessive consumption of sugar may lead to many health problems, such as:
to constant hunger
The sweets that we consume on a daily basis, such as cake and chocolate, are fast carbohydrates. No matter how much you eat, you will feel like eating more. As sugar stops the production of the hormone Leptin, which is responsible for feeling full, so the brain will continue to issue signals that you are hungry and need to eat.
2- Weight gain
Mostly, sugar lovers suffer from obesity, as they eat more food and gain weight over time
3- Premature aging
Increased blood sugar levels lead to disturbances in metabolic processes, so cells die at least twice as fast, compared to those who follow a healthy diet. This leads to sagging skin, cellulite, metabolic disorders and wrinkles.
4- Tooth decay
Sugar causes great damage to the teeth, as the bacteria that live in the mouth and play a role in preparing food for digestion, change when chewing sugars, and produce acid, and this leads to the erosion of tooth enamel and the emergence of caries.
5- Deterioration of brain functions
Scientists believe that sweets stimulate brain activity, but in a different way than positive stimulation. It is possible to stimulate the brain by eating a small piece of chocolate at the time of the tests, for example, but if you are addicted to sweets and eat them constantly, the effect becomes reverse. Scientists have proven that a continuous rise in blood sugar leads to a decline in cognitive functions in the brain
6- Cirrhosis
The liver is one of the most affected organs in the body due to excessive consumption of sugar. The accumulation of fat and the increase in the volume of liver tissue eventually lead to cirrhosis.
