Hide for one minute, is weekend.
The black market bag will be again in our shop very soon. It is big, soft, versatile, comfortable, and it looks incredible even in your head.

"If you approach things with a sense of humor, people immediately assume you're not to be taken seriously. But I think truths about society and human existence can be approached in different ways. You don't always have to be deadly serious. Sarcasm and humor can help you see things in a lighter vein."

Talking about identity, stereotypes, and roles, Cindy Sherman is the master. In a world where life expectancy grown from 30 to 50 years in the last century, the acceptance of changes in our life - profession, love, house - seems to be the norm.

It is 2021... Female?
Inspired by Lorna Simpson's 1992 work entitled "She".
A collaboration with Rita Arnal .

It was 1992 when Lorna Simpson presented ‘She’, a photographic artwork that questions gender stereotypes as a social construction. The image dress code and hand gestures suggest a masculine subject, although it is identified as female.

The second project I want to share was made by Giulia Flavia Baczynski during her confinement in Mantua, Italy. Talking about her experiments with cardboard, strip, pencil, cutter, and space, she wrote: "The fold contracts space while a cut expands it. Two extremes that coexist peacefully in a few square centimeters generate infinite things. For this reason, a sheet of paper is never just a sheet of paper but a potential space. Can a book be viewed in four different ways and still remain straight? Can such an object be called a book? And if it is not a book, what word do you have to look for to define it? (this is not just a popup)." To which one of her followers on Instagram replied: "Mexican urban landscape".

These days when the reality is being especially hard with all of us, but above all confused, I tried to find some relief in observing how other women, some of them with an architecture background, passed the lockdown. With them, I found that paper, flowers, images, and music, sometimes talk better about our feelings than words. With their permission, I'll be sharing their projects with you in the next days. I hope that the beauty and delicacy of their work help you as much as they do with me to make a catharsis of this collective experience.
