Is all about God almighty

The American inventor Henry Ford once said 'Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right'. This sentiment is reflected in a quote from Yoda in the movie Star Wars; "Do or do not. There is no try." But what can we learn from Jesus Christ about this attitude?

We are asked to use our own will, our mind to set hopes on grace being brought to us when Jesus returns. At first glance, it may seem like a threat 'you better pray he's nice to you'. But that's a superficial understanding. What we're being asked to do is to focus our minds and intentions towards receiving the Lord's grace when he returns. Only when we set our alert and sober thoughts towards earning Jesus' blessings can we prepare ourselves to live a life of good action that enables us to open up and receive them. When we think we can, we are right. We don't try, we just do.

How quickly do we expect things these days? With so much information quickly at our fingertips, it is easy to forget that eternity awaits us.

Dear God, we face daily battles with You by our side. Thank You for considering our peace and happiness a priority. We have faith in moments of turmoil because we know You work all things out for our good. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

We trust the Lord to deliver us from all battles we face in our time here on earth, and He always does! We do not always agree with His timing or method, but we understand that God knows what is best for us spiritually and physically. He works all things out for our good. When we feel broken or scared, we have faith that everything will be okay because our peace and happiness are priorities to our heavenly Father.

David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

When Christ died on the cross we were saved. Our sins were washed away by the sacrifices of the lamb of God and we were tasked with living clean, moral lives, whilst sharing the gospel with our family around the world. Now what? Do we sit and twiddle our thumbs waiting for the end times? Or do we embody the spirit of the Lord and His sacrifice to help those who need it?

As a follower in Christ, we endure more responsibilities than most. We are bound by our Lord to be humble in all we do, and in doing so we may open our eyes to see that others around us are also in need of help. Once we have heard their call, we cannot turn our backs. Good deeds are our duties. However, if one is too charitable and spends too much time helping others, we may find we have nothing left and are now in need of the good of others. We must remember to do the good that is within our power to do. A farmer that gave away all his animals and land will surely starve in the winter.
