Apples are one of those perfect fruits for winter, you can enjoy them in many ways and today I share with you a recipe from one of my mentors, Andrea Beaman, that will make your heart warm and keep you healthy.

What can be better than baked apples? Stuffed baked apples of course!! Especially if they are filled with healthy yet yummy ingredients such as nuts and raisins. Tahini makes the flavor extra exotic and a touch of honey brings it all together, YUM!!

I have made this recipe several times before and it's always a hit with everybody that has tried it. Best of all is that it's simple to make, uses real ingredients and substitutions are no problem, you can play around with a few swaps and still get a perfect dish.

I have made it with coconut milk to sub the dairy and give it a more tropical flair. I have also used spinach instead of kale with great results as well (although you might want to cut on the liquid a because of the spinach water content). You can use any cheese you like, whether real or vegan. You can even omit it if you want.

If you still have gatherings to attend to this is the perfect dish to take with you. Give it a try!!!
