Hi Everyone. Firstly, apologies for not keeping you all in the picture.
After I had signed up to do this, I then discovered that as Avon no longer operates in France, the order had to be placed with Avon Germany! In German! That was hard enough in itself but I then found out the order had to be sent to a lady in Germany as they will not deliver to France. The postage from Avon to this lady is free, but then she obviously has to post it on to the reps. This was a fairly small order, but it still cost me €15. I then found out that I was supposed to tell my customers of this at the outset, and that the postage would be divided between them. As my first order was from only 3 customers, I would have then had to spring it on them that their orders would actually cost €5 more than they thought! Obviously I couldn't do this at this stage, so I paid it myself. By the time I'd delivered 2 out of 3 of the orders, one over ½ hour away, I was well out of pocket! I was then told that it's not really viable if you have less than 6 orders - apparently most people don't mind paying €3 extra, which seems very unfair if they've only ordered 1 small item - and that I should also have told everyone to collect from me instead of delivering. If they didn't want to that, I should post it to them, thereby incurring a further second postage charge to them ! To me, this way of doing it seemed all wrong, and I wasn't happy with any of it, so I told the lady who signed me up that I wouldn't be placing any further orders. Apparently all her other reps don't have a problem with it, so it must just be me. I certainly felt it was far more trouble, in all ways, than it was worth.
Since then, I have been trying to find ways round all this - but no luck so far! And I am disappointed as I love Avon and have used it for over 30 years - indeed, my make up is mainly Avon, and I used to buy nearly all my toiletries from them too. That was my motivation for trying to do this in the first place.
