Looking back at this video from 2019, I can almost still feel the electricity in the air at the Ghanaian Independence Day celebration in Geneva, Switzerland 🇨🇭.

This was Okan Africa in its purest, “early days” energy—surrounded by the laughter of good friends, a table full of dreams, and a vision for the future that was just starting to take root.

Back then, we were all about those vibrant handmade African fashions and bold accessories. While our heart for the craft hasn’t changed, our journey certainly has.

We’ve evolved from the racks of clothing you see here to focusing on bringing the soul of the continent into your living spaces through handmade African home decor and household items.

Of course, we stayed true to our roots with our natural beauty staples—our Shea butter and coconut oil are forever favorites!

Okan Africa has come such a long way since this afternoon in the sun, and it’s all thanks to this incredible community.

Building a brand is a marathon, not a sprint, and seeing how far we’ve pivoted and grown makes every late night worth it.

We are on a mission to bring authentic African lifestyle products to the diaspora and the global stage, and I want you to be a part of this story.

Whether you’ve been with us since the 2019 pop-ups or you’re just discovering us now, there is a seat at our table for you.
