On this day, 102 years ago, Baron Henri James de Rothschild founded La Société Parisienne d’Essences Rare & de Parfums on March 5th, 1924, the company that would go on to create La Maison Isabey.

Baron Henri James de Rothschild, a French playwright, doctor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, established the company with three administrators and Maurice Loewe as the sole authorized representative.

Seeking a name that embodied sophistication and artistry, they drew inspiration from Jean-Baptiste Isabey, the renowned French painter and miniaturist. La Maison Isabey became the first French perfume house named after an artist, a precedent that would echo throughout the twentieth century.

Every house carries its memory.

Marking 100 years of Isabey, the Maison is also honoring the legacy of Le Collier d’Isabey, first revealed at the 1925 Paris Art Deco Exhibition.

In tribute to this rich heritage, the iconic pearly-shaped bottles remain at the heart of Isabey’s identity, preserved in the newly re-edited Extraits Collection.

The Extraits de Parfum are heightened expressions of their Eau de Parfum counterparts, offering intensified concentrations that embody the artistry and refinement of a century-long tradition—a harmonious blend of timeless heritage and modern elegance.

Since 1924, La Maison Isabey has been renowned for crafting rare fragrances in pearly bottles, presented in jewel-like cases.

Continuing this tradition, the newly re-edited Extraits Collection introduces a trio of powerful extracts. Inspired by the timeless allure of the former Perle Collection, this reimagined collection blends the purity of the original Eau de Parfum creations with intensified concentrations for a truly opulent experience.
