SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR OILY SKIN
The key to managing your oily skin, just as it is any time you want to take better care of your skin, is a consistent skincare routine.
Just because you have naturally-oily skin doesn’t mean you can’t take effective steps for a clear, healthy skin. If you have oily skin, you’ll need to form a regular skincare routine that helps remove excess oil from your skin without overdrying it.
Step 1: Cleanse Your Skin in the Morning (and at Night)
As you sleep, residue from your pillowcase and products in your hair can transfer excess oil and pore-clogging material to your face. Right after you wake up, use warm water to open your pores and a daily cleanser to thoroughly cleanse. Make sure to also cleanse your face at the end of the day to remove any buildup of dirt, debris, and oil from the rest of the day. Look for a cleanser with salicylic acid to deep clean your skin and keep your pores clear.
Step 2: Exfoliate Skin to Prevent Buildup
Gentle exfoliation is one of the most important skincare steps for oily skin. The combination of excess oil and large pores can cause buildup and dead skin cells to clog your pores. Use a face scrub with salicylic acid a few times a week to remove pore buildup and help prevent acne and breakouts.
Step 3: Use Toner to Refine Your Pores
Applying toner is an essential step for controlling oily skin. Toner is a lightweight skincare product that can help shrink the appearance of pores and control oil. Toners often have skin-friendly ingredients like Witch Hazel and Salicylic Acid to help reduce oil and prevent acne.
Step 4: Apply Moisturizers to Hydrate Your Skin
After cleansing, exfoliating, and toning your skin, apply a lightweight moisturizer and sunscreen to protect and moisturize your skin during the day. Look for non-comedogenic (or non-pore-clogging products) to avoid clogging your pores. While it may seem counterintuitive to add more moisture to oily skin, consistently moisturizing prevents your skin from going into overdrive when it becomes too dry and compensates with an over-production of oil.

SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR DRY SKIN
According to a 2020 study, a consistent skin care regimen can lead to measurable changes in dry skin.
Dry skin can be uncomfortable and is usually marked by scaling, itching, and cracking. While dry skin commonly affects the hands, arms, and legs, it can affect any part of the body.
According to Shawnda Dorantes, RN, BSN, and co-owner of Beauty Lounge Medical Spa,there are several causes of dry skin. These include:
environment
hard water
genetics
excessive washing
exposure to irritants
medical conditions, like hypothyroidism or diabetes.
As skin dries, it shrinks and causes cracks, which can get deep, painful, and even start to bleed. Cracks allow germs and bacteria to enter the body, which can potentially lead to a skin infection,” says Melanie Speed, RN, BSN, CAN, and owner of Flawless Aesthetics.
When it comes to a skin care routine for dry skin, keep the five steps listed below in mind:
Cleanse with a hydrating cleanser that doesn’t disrupt the outer skin layer.
Tone with an alcohol-free toner to restore skin pH.
Target specific skin concerns with a serum.
Moisturize with a nourishing, noncomedogenic moisturizer to lock in hydration.
Protect from harmful UV rays to prevent sun damage.
Cleanse
Your first step is to choose a hydrating cleanser. You want a cleanser to remove dirt and oil without causing a disruption to the outer skin layer.
A good ingredient to look for is hyaluronic acid, as in Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser or CeraVe’s Hydrating Facial Cleanser.
Tone
Many toners use alcohol as a main ingredient, which dries out the skin. Look for an alcohol-free toner with active ingredients that restore the pH levels of your skin.
A great option is Alaffia Everyday Coconut Face Toner.
Target
This step helps to target specific skin concerns. Focus on hydration with a pure hyaluronic acid serum such as The Ordinary Hylauronic Acid 2% + B5.
Moisturize
A good moisturizer will lock in the benefits of a serum. Use a moisturizer daily that’s specifically designed for the face.
According to Sparks, “facial moisturizer needs to be really nourishing and hydrating but avoid products that might clog your pores.” It’s a safe bet to look for “noncomedogenic” on the label.
Kavita Mariwalla, FAAD and board certified dermatologist, recommends SkinFix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Cream.
Protect
Daily sunscreen use prevents harmful UV rays from damaging the skin.
“I recommend wearing sunscreen to protect your skin from harsh UV rays regardless of your skin type. For sunscreen, I like ISDIN Eryfotona and La Roche-Posay Anthelios,” says Mariwalla.
Lower cost options include Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen or Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Face-Moisturizing Sunscreen.

Hey guys,
Today I will be giving you the skincare routine for the different skin types. First, I would like to start with the balanced skin or normal skin.
You might find the word "normal" as a skin type classifier on product packaging, but no one actually has perfectly normal skin.
However, if your skin isn’t particularly oily or dry, and if anti-aging, acne, and sensitivity aren’t concerns on your radar, then you have what we consider to be "balanced skin."
Your Skincare routine;
Cleanser (Morning/Night): A sulfate-free cleanser with a gentle lather, like Renée Rouleau’s Purifying Face Wash ($37) or Fresh Soy Face Cleanser ($38), promises to help keep your skin blemish-free.
Toner (Morning/Night): Avoid ingredients like SD alcohol 40, denatured alcohol, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol; “These [ingredients] are commonly found in toners and should be avoided,” Rouleau cautions. Try Cremorlab Mineral Treatment Essence ($48) for a boost of energizing, brightening hydration.
Moisturizer With SPF (Morning): “When you moisturize, do two applications, one on the face and one on the neck," Rouleau says. She adds, "Sun protection isn’t just about the number—it’s about how generously you apply it.” A light moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30 will protect your skin from the sun and hydrate without clogging your pores. Rouleau suggests looking for ingredients like dimethicone, panthenol, and sodium hyaluronate (also known as hyaluronic acid).
Antioxidant Serum (Night): Rouleau suggests looking for an antioxidant serum with brightening ingredients like vitamin C and algae extract, as well as naturally revitalizing ingredients like rosemary and peppermint. We’re fans of Caudalie Reveratrol Lift Firming Serum ($82).
Moisturizer (Night): At night, you can go with a creamier moisturizer, sans SPF, meant to nourish your skin while you sleep. Try Tatcha's The water cream ($68).
Lastly, when it comes to keeping your normal skin, Rouleau suggests incorporating glycolic acid into your routine a few times a week. “This is an [alpha-hydroxy acid] that is favored because it has the smallest molecular structure and can absorb deeper within the skin,” Rouleau explains. “This helps to dissolve surface dry skin cells to encourage brighter, more even-toned, smoother skin.” Try Dr.Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel ($88) for easy, on-the-go smoothing and brightening.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hey guys,
Following the previous post, Whether you have a three- or nine-step routine, there's one thing anyone can do to improve their skincare which is to apply products in the right order.
No matter your skin concerns, you’ll want to start with a clean face; by washing your face morning and night before applying any products, toned base, then apply concentrated, active ingredients, and finish by sealing in moisture—and, of course, SPF in the daytime. Here are the steps for a good skincare regimen:
Till next time guys.
Have a wonderful day.

Hello guys,
Taking good care of the skin is very important. But, It’s not enough to have good skin-care products:
For your products to be most effective, you also need to apply them in the correct order. Your routine will depend on your skin type, the ingredients and formulations of your products, and the time of day.
A good rule of thumb, though, is to apply in order of texture, from thinnest to thickest, since thin products won’t be able to pe*****te thicker ones.
We would be doing a series of skincare routines for the different skin types.
But today, I will be showing you the basic skincare routine in my next post.
