As we’re queuing to get into Tropic Fest, I couldn’t help but reminisce.
Driving through the gates of Weston Park brought back so many memories. The last time I was here was in 1998, when my late Gramps, Harry, and my wonderful Dad, DJ Bendon, brought me to the Pony Club Championships.
It’s amazing how a place can take you straight back in time.
I can still remember the excitement, the horses, and the precious time we spent together. Those are memories I’ll treasure forever.
Life has taken me on a very different journey since then, and today I’m here for Tropic Fest, but coming back to Weston Park reminded me just how special this place has always been.

🌿 Out of Office This Weekend 🌿
One of the foundations of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is the concept of occupational balance.
Our occupations are the everyday activities that give our lives meaning and purpose. They include self-care, work, and leisure, and when these are in balance, they support our health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
This weekend, I’m practising what I encourage others to do—stepping away from work to make time for leisure, learning, connection, and a little self-care at Tropic Fest.
I’ll be taking a break from work this weekend, so replies to messages and emails may be a little slower. I’ll get back to everyone next week.
Wishing you all a weekend filled with the occupations that help you feel rested, energised, and fulfilled. 💚

🌟 LEGO® Therapy Groups – Summer Holidays 2026 🌟
Our first LEGO® Therapy group is now full, and our second group is almost full! We will also be running a third group, but spaces will be limited.
⏰ Bookings will close next week, so if you’d like your child to join us this summer, please get in touch by this weekend. This will allow us to send out all the necessary registration and consent forms in time.
Both Bethan Taylor and I will be on annual leave over the next couple of weeks. Our wonderful administrator, Polly, will be helping with enquiries, but her availability is also limited.
To avoid disappointment and secure your child’s place, please contact us this weekend.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone for another fun-filled summer of building friendships, developing social communication skills, problem-solving, and confidence through LEGO® Therapy! 🧱💜

🧱 LEGO® Therapy Groups – Thank You! 💛
A huge thank you for all of the interest and enquiries we’ve received about our new LEGO® Therapy Groups. The response has been amazing, and we’re so excited to get started!
Our groups are designed to help children develop social communication, emotional regulation, confidence and teamwork through fun, structured play in a supportive environment.
Each session includes four important roles, giving every child the opportunity to practise different skills:
🧱 The Engineer – Reads and explains the building instructions.
🧱 The Supplier – Finds and organises the correct LEGO® pieces.
🧱 The Builder – Listens carefully and builds the model using the instructions given.
🧱 The Team Captain – Encourages communication, problem-solving, turn-taking and teamwork, helping everyone work together successfully.
If you’ve already registered your interest, please complete and return your child’s medical and registration forms as soon as possible. Once we’ve received them, your child will be allocated to the most suitable group and session time based on age, needs and availability.
We can’t wait to welcome your children and watch their confidence, friendships and communication skills grow—one brick at a time! 💙🧩

Firstly… thank you! 💚
I just wanted to apologise if I haven’t replied to everyone about our new LEGO® Therapy groups yet.
We’ve had such an incredible response over the weekend that we’re now looking at opening a third Friday group! 🤯
Thank you so much for your patience. I’ll be getting back to everyone tomorrow once I’ve worked through all of the enquiries.
Today has been spent in the clinic making what feels like the hundredth decision… this time, choosing paint colours for the doors! 🎨
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing little snippets of the new Sensational Skin & Wellbeing clinic as everything comes together. I don’t want to reveal too much though—I really want the full space to be a surprise!
I can’t wait to finally open the doors, welcome you all in, and hand out our launch goodie bags. 💚
