After all these years cutting hair, nothing surprises me anymore.
Can’t lift chin, can’t lower chin, moving about nonstop… calm.

But chewing gum while I’m shaving your beard is criminal 😭

Time flies — 97 Barbers is almost 2 years in.

Grateful for everyone who’s supported me.
Some clients became friends.

But not every experience was kind.
When I first started in the UK,
my English wasn’t great,
and I was still learning.
One day, a man brought his kid in.
“Cut it short.”

I did.

“Not short enough.”

So I cut more.

Still not enough.

Then he snapped.
Started shouting in front of everyone.
Said I didn’t know how to cut hair.

I said nothing.
Just finished the job.

Went to the toilet after.
Angry. Confused.

But I came back out.
Because someone else was waiting.

That next client told me,
“It’s not your fault. Don’t lose confidence.”

I didn’t.

Now I’m better.

If I ever see him again—
I know exactly what I’ll do.

I’m so happy to have celebrated my 97th birthday❤️

❤️‍🩹Even though we haven’t known each other for that long, from the moment I first reached out to you for a tattoo, to us ending up living together for over a month, and spending such a happy Christmas and New Year together — it honestly feels kind of magical, like we somehow gained another family member.
And Bear too. This past while has been such a happy time for me and my whole family. Thank you for always playing with my kids and being so good to them — I know they’ll always remember the uncle with lots of tattoos. I really hope your last days in the UK are filled with nothing but happy memories.
