I haven't had much news to post but at last it feels like things are moving. The proper dehumidifiers are in now so the floor and walls will be thoroughly dried and repaired before any new flooring can go down. Then we will be decorating, new cubicles going in, and then the best bit... the arrival of the latest megaSun sunbeds. The future is all about LED sunbeds so we have ordered one of the first K9SL in the UK. Clients are loving the LED/UV sunbeds as tanning times are reduced, they tan from the second they are switched on and the results are amazing - wait until you try it, you'll be converted. I'll be posting more updates as I have them, so keep your notifications switched on.

I’ve seen a few posts on socials today of wrecked salons, but this was no April Fool for us, we are still living the nightmare of a flooded business 💦 3 months on, the insurance companies have still not made crucial decisions which would allow us to strip out the salon and re-fit. I have had to chase and complain week on week 🤯 one point I was even told to stop calling and emailing the insurance assessor as it was slowing him down!!! Electricians came to test the sunbeds in March, we waited weeks for the appointment as they had to hire certain testing equipment, when they came it was the wrong equipment 😫 you really couldn’t make it up!
I am receiving so many lovely messages 🥰from clients checking on us and wondering when we might re-open, but as yet I’m not able to give much positive news, other than we have engaged an amazing company for the refit so as soon as we can crack on with that I’ll be posting non-stop with progress pics. Thank you for all the lovely messages of support☺️, we’re missing the busiest part of tanning season and all our lovely clients….I’m getting lots of hugs when clients spot me in Tesco 🤗 Please bear with us and hope it won’t be too much longer until we see you all again 🥳 # #

Flood update - 3 of the sunbeds were removed from the salon this week while the drying out continues. Now it’s getting milder we hope that will happen faster. Hopefully we will get confirmation this week that the ripping out can start, I might even join them with my sledgehammer to relieve my pent up frustration at how slooow this whole process is. Once the re-fit starts we will have a better idea how long things will take before we can welcome you all back. Have a lovely weekend 🤩 xx

Feels like things are moving on at the salon this week. Dehumidifiers have gone in, all contents boxed up and removed to storage. The insurance company made a decision on the sunbeds and they can be removed next week. Ceilings will come down, flooring will cover up, partitions removed and the salon will be an empty shell once again, quite upsetting to see 23 years of memories ripped out 😢 But we have big plans and once the refit starts I can’t wait to show you all, especially the new megaSun sunbeds 🤩 Keep checking our socials for updates 📣

Just a few pics of the flood damage, 7 hours of mains water pouring through the ceiling. As the weeks have passed it’s become more apparent quite how bad water ingress can be. The flooring needs to be lifted to dry out, the partitions will need to be replaced and the sunbeds are being assessed to see if they will be written off. Of course the insurance company is procrastinating, despite the fact that I have never made a claim in 20 years and pay nearly £2000 in premiums each year. There should be more action this week, some decisions made, at least I hope they will get the drying equipment in. Then comes the exciting time when we will be rebuilding the salon and welcoming you all back. We have had many lovely messages of support, and a few asking when we will reopen. Please know that any sunbed credit you have will be extended by the amount of time that we are closed. After the awful shock of the flood we have been busy with plans for a re-fit. The insurance companies are talking, quotes are in for repairs and new sunbeds. And when I was feeling at my lowest, I was sent an angel called Sammy who is going to help us put the salon back together again as soon as possible. We are touched by the amazing messages of support, and offers of help we have had from our lovely clients and cannot wait to get back to work in our shiny new salon. It’s been a busy few days, with the insurance companies and trades assessing what needs to be done re-the flood damage💦. Bad news is ceilings, walls and floors will have to be replaced. Good news is we will soon have a shiny new salon to welcome you back and are already making plans 🤩.
