☀️ Summer Injectables: Don’t Worry! 💉🦩

Warmer weather can increase the chance of swelling, bruising, and minor bleeding after injectable treatments. This is because heat causes your blood vessels to widen and increases circulation, which can make these temporary side effects a little more noticeable.

The good news? This is completely normal and does not mean your treatment hasn’t worked or that something is wrong. Most swelling and bruising settle naturally over the following days.

To help minimise swelling and support your recovery:

💧 Stay well hydrated.

🧊 Apply a cool compress gently (if advised by your practitioner).

🌡️ Avoid excessive heat for the first 24–48 hours, including hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and prolonged sun exposure.

🏃‍♀️ Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, as this increases blood flow.

🍷 Avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours where possible, as it can increase bruising.

😴 Sleep with your head slightly elevated on the first night if you’ve had facial injectables.

🧴 Follow all of your personalised aftercare advice and avoid touching or massaging the treated area unless you’ve been instructed to do so.

When should you contact us?

If you have severe pain, significant worsening swelling after the first couple of days, spreading redness, or any concerns, please get in touch with us straight away. We’re always happy to advise and support you.

• Stay upright for 4–6 hours after treatment.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat (saunas, hot baths, sunbeds) for 24–48 hours.
• Expect mild swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness for a few days.
• Stay hydrated and follow any personalised aftercare instructions.
• Contact your practitioner immediately if you experience severe pain, significant swelling, skin colour changes, or any concerns.
