Hi all,

Very sorry to say that Margaret has had Covid and will be unable to open the salon for the rest of the week. Fortunately testing negative now, but still really unwell and in need of rest.

We've tried to contact everyone to reschedule appointments, but missing numbers for some. If you haven't heard from us and have an appointment, please accept our apologies and feel free to get in touch to reschedule.

Margaret is hoping to be back in the salon from Tuesday of next week.

BURGLARY UPDATE - ONE WEEK ON

Fair play to Northumbria Police. They have taken our burglary seriously and have been in regular contact. We now have several pieces of clear CCTV of the perpetrator(s) and have been asked to wait whilst they circulate the footage and images internally. Assume they may reach out for public info if that doesn’t bring about anything solid. The police also have evidence they are testing, including gloves. Alarmingly, we have also been told that it seems our business was directly targeted, based on the CCTV from the front and rear of the premises and nearby.

This is not a petty crime, despite the fact they got away with nothing but coppers in a mostly empty till. There is extensive damage to the property which will almost certainly increase insurance premiums, there’s the loss of time and an emotional heft that understandably results from such a heinous act.

Thank you for all the kind messages on here and in salon. Jems Hair Studio has been a proud part of the Ashington community for almost thirty years, providing a service not only to the town, but surrounding areas. As a community, we deserve better than this.
