Smoker lines aren’t just caused by smoking. Perimenopause and menopause can lead to collagen loss, thinner skin, dehydration, and fine lines around the mouth, even in women who’ve never touched a cigarette. The good news? Natural-looking aesthetic treatments and clinical-grade skincare can help soften lines and restore confidence without looking overdone. Message me GLOW if you’d like advice tailored to your skin.

Nobody really warns women how much perimenopause and menopause can change their skin.

It’s not just “getting older.”

Skin suddenly becomes dull, flat, dry, crepey and tired-looking almost overnight. Makeup stops sitting properly. Your glow disappears. And a lot of women start thinking they need loads of filler or tweakments to fix it.

But here’s what I’m seeing more and more…

Women don’t actually want to look frozen or expressionless.

Injectable treatments can be incredible when done well and naturally. I have & offer them myself but most women still want movement, softness and skin that looks healthy rather than “overdone.”

That’s why treatments like the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance are becoming so popular.

Sometimes your skin doesn’t need more volume.

It needs rejuvenating.
Refreshing.
Stimulating again.

Brighter skin will always make you look healthier, fresher and more youthful than heavy makeup or an overfilled face ever will.

Bruising after injectables: why it happens 👇🏻

Your face is a network of blood vessels and capillaries, so there’s always a chance of bruising with anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers. It’s normal, it’s temporary, and it doesn’t mean anything went wrong.

My advice? Plan ahead. Book your treatment at least 3-4 weeks before any big event, wedding or holiday so you’ve got plenty of time to heal and look your best.

Perimenopause and menopause can completely change your skin.

One minute your makeup sits perfectly… the next your skin looks dull, tired, crepey and flat no matter how much you spend on products.

And honestly?
A lot of women are moving away from the overfilled, frozen look.

Injectable treatments can be amazing when done well, I offer them myself, but expressionless and unnatural isn’t the goal for most women anymore.

The trend now is healthier-looking skin.
Brighter skin.
Tighter skin.
Skin that still moves, smiles and looks like YOU.

That’s why treatments like the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance are becoming so popular for women 40+.

It helps improve:
✨ dull menopausal skin
✨ uneven texture
✨ fine lines
✨ roughness
✨ lack of glow
✨ tired-looking skin

Sometimes it’s not that you need “more” done…

Your skin just needs stimulating and refreshing again.

Simple skincare routines work better than complicated ones. Your skin barrier doesn’t need 10 products, it needs a cleanser, moisturiser and an active that targets your actual skin concern plus daily SPF. That’s it.

Overloading your skin with layers of serums, essences and toners is one of the biggest causes of irritation, breakouts and a damaged skin barrier I see in clinic.

If you want healthy skin without the faff, keep it simple, stay consistent, and invest in clinical -grade skincare that actually works.

Save this for your next “do I really need all this?” moment.

Yes, I climbed a skyscraper about it. That’s how strongly I feel about your collagen 😂

Dry, dull, deflated, that’s oestrogen leaving without a goodbye note. The right treatments bring it back. No guesswork, no 12-step shelf of hope.

If you’re peri or menopausal and looking into polynucleotides… this is the bit most people don’t explain properly.

They’re often marketed as a “skin tightening” treatment, which sounds amazing but also sets the wrong expectation.

Because the results aren’t instant. And they’re not dramatic in the way people think.

Polynucleotides work by improving your skin quality over time.

And when your skin is changing due to hormonal shifts thinner, duller, less elastic that actually matters more than chasing quick fixes.

It’s a long game.

Better skin, not just tighter skin. And when you understand that, you get much better results (and way less disappointment).

If you want help figuring out what will actually make a difference to your skin, that’s exactly what I do in clinic.

Those little pesky lines around our eyes spread onto our cheeks too when we smile. Other injectables like anti-wrinkle treatment can’t get rid of these on their own.

That’s where skin boosters come in. Like we did for this lovely lady, they give real hydration, a snap-back effect, and help reduce those lines.
If this has been bothering you, head to the link in my bio. You can book a phone consultation to chat it through, or come in for a face-to-face.

Wondering what skin boosters actually are? They’re simply injectable moisturisers, that’s the best way to describe them!
