Have I ever worn Spanx?

We’re not here to talk about that. 😬

You look at them and think there’s absolutely no chance you’re getting in.

Then somehow…

you do.

And everything sits a little more smoothly.

Cannulas remind me of Spanx.

They look far more intimidating than the job they’re actually there to do.

It’s something I explain to patients in my Aylesbury clinic most weeks before their first filler treatment

and you can almost see the relief when they realise what a cannula actually is.

One of the hardest parts of this job isn’t treating people.

It’s meeting them after something has already gone wrong.

Nobody books a treatment expecting to need a second opinion. But sometimes things don’t feel right, and that’s where people often find themselves.

My job isn’t to criticise another practitioner or dwell on what’s already happened.

It’s to listen, assess what’s going on, explain things honestly, and help you understand what happens next.

My younger self would be devastated.

Microneedling isn’t flashy.

It’s not new.

It’s not particularly trendy.

It just rolls its sleeves up and gets the job done - exceptionally well.

Which is probably why it’s still one of my favourite treatments.
