Hot weather can be tough on your skin, especially during a heatwave. Here are some simple tips:

☀️ Wear sunscreen every day

* Use SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days.
* Reapply every 2 hours if you’re outdoors, and after swimming or sweating.

💧 Stay hydrated

* Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
* Eating water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, and strawberries can help too.

🧴 Switch to lighter skincare

* Use a lightweight moisturiser rather than heavy creams.
* Non-comedogenic products are less likely to clog pores.

🧼 Cleanse gently

* Wash away sweat, sunscreen, and pollution morning and evening.
* Avoid over-washing, which can irritate skin.

😎 Protect your face

* Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses when outside.
* Seek shade between 11am and 3pm when UV levels are strongest.

🌿 Cool and soothe

* Keep a facial mist or aloe vera gel in the fridge for a refreshing boost.
* Cool compresses can help if skin feels hot or irritated.

🚫 Avoid common mistakes

* Don’t use harsh scrubs if your skin is already sensitive from the sun.
* Be careful with products containing strong acids or retinol, as they can increase sun sensitivity.

If you’re prone to oily skin or breakouts during hot weather, blotting papers and a lightweight gel moisturiser can help keep your skin balanced without feeling greasy.
