First Aid complete for another 3 years π₯³
Watch me work with this satisfying corn enucleation π£
A corn forms because of repeated pressure and friction. Removing the central core can provide immediate relief, but long-term success also means addressing the causeβwhether that's footwear, foot mechanics, or pressure points.
Treatment performed by a qualified foot health professional with patient consent.
I am almost at full capacity this coming week before my annual leave and I'm attending my first aid refresher on my day off tomorrow so when I say I'm extremely busy, I'm not lying π. Replies also may be a tad slower than usual π

βοΈβοΈ Holiday Foot Care Tips π¦Ά
Whether you're heading to the beach, exploring a new city, or relaxing by the pool, don't forget to give your feet a little attention before you go!
Here are my top tips for happy, healthy holiday feet:
π
Book your foot care before you travel
Treat your feet to a professional foot care appointment before your holiday. Having nails trimmed correctly, hard skin reduced, and any foot concerns addressed can make walking much more comfortable.
π Break in new shoes
Avoid taking brand-new sandals or trainers on holiday without wearing them first. Breaking them in at home can help prevent painful blisters.
π©΄ Pack the right footwear
Take supportive walking shoes for sightseeing, comfortable sandals for everyday wear, and flip-flops for around the pool or in communal showers. Your feet will thank you!
βοΈ Don't forget suncream
The tops of your feet are often forgotten but can burn just as easily as the rest of your body. Apply SPF and remember to reapply throughout the day.
ποΈ Take care at the beach
Hot sand can burn your feet, so wear sandals when walking to and from the sea. Check for sharp shells, stones, or hidden objects before walking barefoot, and rinse off sand and saltwater afterwards to help prevent dry, irritated skin.
A little preparation goes a long way. Healthy feet mean you can spend less time dealing with aches and blisters and more time enjoying your holiday! π΄π£

βοΈ Summer is hereβ¦ and so are blisters! π¦Ά
Warmer weather often means sandals, flip-flops, walking holidays, festivals, and spending more time on our feet. Unfortunately, it can also mean painful blisters.
Blisters are usually caused by friction, heat, and moisture. They develop when the skin is repeatedly rubbed, causing fluid to build up and protect the tissue underneath.
Here are a few tips to help prevent them:
π Make sure your footwear fits properly and doesn't rub.
𧦠Wear moisture-wicking socks with enclosed shoes.
π§ Keep your feet clean and dry.
πΆ Break in new shoes gradually rather than wearing them all day for the first time.
π©Ή If you know a certain area rubs, use blister prevention tape or protective padding before heading out.
If you do develop a blister, try not to burst it if possible. The skin acts as a natural barrier against infection. Cover it with a clean dressing or blister plaster and keep the area clean. If the blister becomes very painful, shows signs of infection, or you have diabetes or poor circulation, seek professional advice promptly.
Enjoy the sunshine, look after your feet, and they'll help you make the most of every summer adventure! βοΈπ£
