That’s the last appointment done 😭 You guys are the best, I’ve been so spoilt I can’t get all the things in one photo (and I’ve drank some of the wine already, obviously🥂)

Now everyone who’s booked in knows what’s going on, it’s time for a post!

I’ve made the really tough decision to retire from beauty at the end of the tax year 😢

It’s the classic ‘it’s not you, it’s me’! Been burning the candle at both ends for a couple of years now and it turns out I’m not as indestructible as I think I am 🤦‍♀️

But I’ve been in this for the best part of a decade and all I can say is THANK YOU so much to clients past and present, aka friends, therapists, adoptive families, drinking buddies, agony aunts, nurses, tv show advisors, chefs, confidants, basically anyone who’s put up with me for the past nearly 8 years (yes some of you have been here that long)

You’ve supported me by paying my bills (🤣) but you’ve supported my silly little soul so much more than you could ever know 🫶

Please please please keep in touch or I will miss you very terribly 💕💕

‼️ Client notice ‼️

As I think most of you know, my 9-5 is now a permanent thing and as I’m sure most of you also know, I find myself needing to slow down a bit 🥲

Moving forward, I will be cutting my hours for nails down to Tuesday nights, Friday nights and Saturdays

I will also be dropping lash lifts from my treatment menu and I’d like to recommend Lauren (The Face Hub, based in Mopp on Doncaster Road) for this service!

I still anticipate this being 50-55 hours of work a week, but my goal is to stop it from hitting 60-70 😴

I know everyone is going to be understanding and supportive because most of you have already told me to do this 😅 but I’ve found it really hard to make this decision because this has been my main job for a long long time at this point and I don’t want to let you all down

I know there are going to be some teething problems but I hope we can all get into a bit of a rhythm and by my calculations, I should still be able to get everyone in and I won’t be as dependent on caffeine to stay awake as I currently am 🤣

I hope this doesn’t cause too many problems (and if it does and you decide to look for someone else, please just let me know, there will be no hard feelings!) but my only other option at this point would be to quit beauty completely but that doesn’t feel like the right decision either, so this is the lesser of two evils

I should add that any appointments that are already booked are obviously safe, I’m not cancelling anything that’s already in the diary, this is just applicable to any appointments booked moving forward!

I’m reposting this as I still receive a lot of requests from new clients so I thought I would explain myself a little in the hopes of not feeling like I’m letting people down when I have to say no.

As most of my regulars know, it kills me to turn people down and I like to do my best to squeeze people in where I can but unfortunately I only work in beauty part-time around my other job and there’s only so many hours in a day and I started to struggle to rebook people due to being too full.

This is frustrating for clients and led to me working all hours with no days off because I am rubbish at saying no so I took the decision to limit the amount of clients I take on so that people aren’t fighting for appointments.

I haven’t posted about this since last summer so I understand why some people are messaging and wondering if it still applies, and unfortunately it does.

If a time comes where any spots open back up I will definitely make a big show and a dance of it and advertise the opening for all to see 💃🏻

I don’t know how to make this any clearer on my page, I’ve pinned the post to the top and added it to my bio but hopefully this helps to manage expectations because I hate turning people away when they message 😭

I am so grateful to my clients for keeping me busy and I am grateful to others for the attention, I’m just sorry I don’t have more space!
