💉 What is a seroma?

This photo shows fluid removed during a recent seroma aspiration carried out by the registered nurse we work alongside as part of our post-op aftercare service.

A seroma is a collection of fluid that can develop after procedures such as tummy tucks, liposuction, BBLs and other body contouring surgery.

Not every seroma requires aspiration but larger or persistent seromas should always be assessed.

If left untreated, they can:
• Delay healing
• Cause pain and discomfort
• Affect your final surgical result
• Increase the risk of complications, including infection in some cases

One of the biggest challenges for patients returning from surgery abroad is finding ongoing support once they’re back in the UK.

At SCULPT, we work alongside a registered nurse to ensure clients have access to appropriate assessment and treatment where needed, alongside:
🫶🏻 Post-operative lymphatic drainage
🫶🏻 Recovery support
🫶🏻 Compression garment advice
🫶🏻 Ongoing aftercare throughout your healing journey

Feeling puffy after your holiday or long-haul flight?

Long periods of sitting, changes in cabin pressure and dehydration can all contribute to fluid retention, leaving you feeling bloated and swollen.

A lymphatic drainage massage can help:
• Encourage normal lymphatic flow
• Reduce the feeling of puffiness and bloating
• Leave you feeling lighter and more comfortable
• Support your body as it returns to its normal routine

Whether you’ve just landed from your summer holiday or have been travelling for work it’s the perfect way to reset.

After a tummy tuck you’re generally advised not to lie flat on your back, on your stomach or on your side during the initial healing phase.

After a tummy tuck, sleeping in a reclined position helps because it:

* Reduces tension on the incision
* Protects the muscle repair (if you had one)
* Reduces swelling
* Makes it easier to get in and out of bed
* Can make you more comfortable and reduce pain

Did you know stress can have a huge impact on your tummy?

When we’re stressed, our body switches into “fight or flight” mode. This can slow digestion, increase muscle tension and leave you feeling bloated, uncomfortable and holding onto fluid.

Relaxation matters. When your body feels safe and calm your digestive system can function more comfortably, which may help reduce that stuck or bloated feeling for some people.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle, relaxing treatment designed to support your body’s natural lymphatic system. Many clients tell me they leave feeling:
🫶🏻 Less puffy
🫶🏻 More relaxed
🫶🏻 Lighter
🫶🏻 Less bloated

If stress has left you feeling swollen, sluggish or bloated, lymphatic drainage massage could be just what your body needs.

Never too hot for a lymphatic drainage massage! 🥵🫠😅

Good morning!

We hope everyone is enjoying the glorious weather this week.

Just a little reminder that staying hydrated is especially important in this warm weather.

Please make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day before your appointment.

There’s no need to drink large amounts immediately before your treatment though steady hydration throughout the day is best. 💧

The good news is our treatment rooms are lovely and cool so you can relax and escape the heat for a while.

“I don’t think this treatment will do anything…” 👀

That’s exactly what this client thought before today’s session.

She booked in for a full body lymphatic drainage treatment combined with waist sculpting but wasn’t convinced she would see any noticeable difference.

These photos were taken before and immediately after her treatment.

Lymphatic drainage isn’t magic and it isn’t weight loss. What it can do is help the body reduce excess fluid retention, support the lymphatic system and leave you feeling lighter, less puffy and more sculpted.

Sometimes it’s the clients who are the biggest sceptics that are the most surprised by their results 😅

What do you think? Can you see the difference? 👇

Lymphatic drainage massages are becoming increasingly popular before photoshoots 📸✨

If you want to look and feel your best before stepping in front of the camera, lymphatic drainage can help reduce bloating, fluid retention and puffiness, leaving you looking more sculpted and defined.

Many clients book a treatment 24–48 hours before a photoshoot, holiday or special event to:
Reduce water retention
Enhance natural contours
Improve circulation
Leave the body feeling lighter and less sluggish

The result? A smoother more contoured appearance and a confidence boost when it’s time to pose 😍
