Today's Wellness Wednesday is about how you can tell your massage is working.

Scroll through the pictures for ways its working within your body. Most probably least expect. Let me when if you hace noticed any of these? Or anything different!

This week has whizzed by, and I know I've not updated all week - school holidays get crazy for me, always on the going, so apologies. But made it to the end of the week with child in tow. Haha.

So to finish off this week its Fun Fact Friday.

♡ Did you know that specialised massage (MLD - Manual Lymphatic Drainage) Improves the flow of lymphatic through the body, relieving some aches, pains, and flu-like symptoms?
♡ This can be done on all the body or just individual areas.

Message or comment below if you would like to know more about MLD massage.

So I get asked a lot about Manual Lymphatic Drainage. So I thought I'd share a little bit of information and what it is good for. This is by far my one of my most popular treatments and I have a range of clients come in for different reason, whether it's post surgery recovery, bloatedness, heavy swollen legs or just a general wellbeing reset.

It's Wednesday again! Honestly these weeks are flying by!

So my Wellness Wednesday is about desk workers. I have a fair few clients that are sitting at a desk all day long throughout their working week, this post is specifically for you but obviously applies to everyone.

Spine health checks you can do to ease pain and be more comfortable when sitting at a desk:
♡ Sit in a supportive chair - use lumbar support or cushion to keep natural curves on lower back.
♡ Feet flat on the floor - knees, elbows and hips at 90°
♡ Raise the screen to eye level - The top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level to prevent neck strain.
♡ Get up every 30 mins for 60seconds - Take a 60-second break to walk or stretch to reduce spinal compression.

Its middle of a normal week - but its a short week and its lost track of days due to bank holiday - so today's Wellness Wednesday is about Deaf awareness - well actually its the whole week!

So its just a reminder I accommodate for everyone, and even if you are Deaf doesn't mean you cant have a massage. I communicate via messages before, I know some BSL and fingerspelling, if you lip read I am slow and clear with my speech and I can write things down for you.

With the loss of 1 sense your other senses are heightened - so by having a massage, changes in the brain lead to increased sensitivity to touch.

Today is 'No Limits for Deaf Children Day' celebrates the strength, curiosity, and big dreams of deaf children. It is a reminder that deafness does not place a ceiling on a child’s potential. And having a deaf child I know how hard and challenging it can be.

So today I wanted to make it about deaf adults and make you feel more involved and not isolated. I can make all my treatments accessible for you. I know some BSL, text or email for booking appointments, I am happy to write things down for you and to speak slowly so you can lip read. I don't want any one to feel they can't have treatments with me due to their disability.

So a little different from my normal Wellness Wednesday posts - but still coincides with it.

Today is 'Step into the Spotlight Day'. So this is me, for those who don't know me. My name is Stef I am a sole massage therapist at my business Tot Ally Relaxed. I have been qualified for nearly 2 years and I love my job. And I fell into this path by accident after I was on holiday in turkey and had a turkish hamman, and went off a whim. But I'm glad I did. I love my clients. I love helping them with their aches, pains, getting them relaxed, walking out like feeling a new person. I love learning new skills and techniques to improve myself as a massage therapist.

My room which is within The Wellbeing Hub is a safe space. You can talk through your treatments (facials might be a bit more difficult), you can just chill and enjoy your time, you can sleep (one of the best compliment for a massage therapist to recieve), you can put the world to rights, cry, fidget, as long as you feel comfortable I work round you.

If you have any questions or would like to know more let me know. 😊
