June: A Season of Light & Becoming

June has arrived, bringing with it the energy of light, growth, abundance, and possibility.

This is the month of Litha and the Summer Solstice! The longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its peak and nature is in full bloom. It’s a reminder to pause and acknowledge how far we’ve come, what we’ve cultivated, and who we are becoming.

For me, June always feels extra special. Not only is it the month that celebrates light, it’s also my birthday month, a time of reflection, gratitude, and new beginnings.

And if the way this month has started is anything to go by, it’s going to be a memorable one.

Today I received some truly amazing news. The kind of news that makes you stop, smile, and quietly thank the universe for the twists and turns that brought you here.

I’m not quite ready to share it just yet… but all will be revealed in time.

For now, I’m allowing myself to sit with the excitement, the gratitude, and the reminder that sometimes the seeds you’ve planted long ago begin to bloom when you least expect it.

So as we step into this new month, I invite you to ask yourself:

☀️ What are you ready to celebrate?
🌿 What is blossoming in your life?
✨ And who are you becoming?

May June bring you joy, abundance, healing, and plenty of reasons to trust the timing of your journey.

Trauma aware and trauma informed. Buzzwords of the wellness industry at the moment. It’s great that people are learning about trauma but how does that play out in reality. Are they aware of the various trauma responses. Are they attuned to their clients enough to know if they are experiencing a trauma response. How will they deal with a client who has an emotional response to a trigger. Like I said in my video I will hold space. That’s easy to say. But what does that look like in practical terms. How would I hold space for you and your trauma response? How in depth are the consultations to mitigate against a trigger during a treatment? Don’t be afraid to ask your therapist/coach/facilitator.

Looking into a broken mirror doesn’t mean you are broken.

Sometimes the people around us are carrying their own fractures, wounds, and unhealed pain. And when they project those wounds onto us, it can distort the way we see ourselves.

Especially when they are surrounded by other broken mirrors reflecting the same patterns back to them.

Over time, we can begin to question our worth.
Our beauty.
Our softness.
Our truth.

But a distorted reflection was never proof that something was wrong with you.

Not everyone has the capacity to see you clearly when they’ve never learned to see themselves with honesty and love.

Healing is remembering who you were before other people’s pain became your mirror.

You were never broken.
You were simply looking at yourself through cracked glass.

Pssst… Barra Best says summer starts this weekend ☀️👀

Do you still have your winter coat on?
Does your garden need tidied?
Are you considering braiding the hair on your legs? 😂

If you answered yes to any of the above… this is your sign to book in for a sugaring treatment ✨

Because the second the sun appears, Belfast suddenly forgets it was raining 5 minutes ago and everyone’s out in shorts, dresses and beer gardens 🌴🍹

Sugaring leaves your skin feeling fresh, smooth and soft, with longer-lasting results and less irritation than shaving 🙌

No last-minute panic shaving.
No prickly stubble the next day.
Just silky smooth skin, ready whenever the sunshine decides to make its annual appearance 😌☀️

Holiday season is loading… don’t let your winter coat come with you 😂💛

Just a heads up. I have limited availability until the end of July so if you have been thinking about booking a treatment now is the time! I have one space left in May!

Lately I’ve been exploring the difference between being alone and actually being with myself.

I realised I’d become very used to filling empty space… doom scrolling, distracting myself with social media, messaging friends, constantly consuming something.

And while I spend time alone, I don’t always spend time with me.

Aside from my walks and the gym, I rarely slow down enough to truly connect with myself, my thoughts, my body, my emotions, my needs.

And honestly, I’m starting to understand why my walks and gym sessions feel so good for me.
They bring me back to myself.
They quiet the noise.
They help me feel present again.

So lately I’ve been making a conscious effort to spend more time with myself instead of just distracting myself from myself.

Less escaping.
More connecting. 🤍

So I’ve been out walking along the lough shore again this morning… sun shining, water sparkling, genuinely enjoying my own company.

And I found myself thinking about how much I’ve been “romanticising” my life lately.
The little moments.
The peace.
The slowness.
The beauty that’s already here.

And it’s so easy to fantasise about receiving a safe, loving relationship.
To imagine what it would feel like to be chosen, supported, emotionally held.

But then the deeper question came up…

When that kind of love actually arrives, are you truly in a place to receive it?

Not just want it.
Not just dream about it.
But receive it without sabotaging it, doubting it, running from it, or shrinking inside it.

Because safe love can feel unfamiliar when you’ve spent years surviving chaos, inconsistency, or emotional unavailability.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about calling love in.
It’s about becoming available for the kind of love you say you want.
