❗The "Don'ts" of Post-Waxing❗

🥵 Heat / Hot water: Avoid hot baths or showers. Stick to lukewarm or cool water, and pat the area dry instead of rubbing it.
🏋️Sweating and friction: No intense workouts or gym sessions. Sweat can clog open follicles, while friction aggravates tender skin.
😎Sun exposure: Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds, and tanning. Freshly waxed skin is highly sensitive to UV rays and prone to pigmentation.
🏊Swimming: Steer clear of swimming pools, hot tubs, and the sea. Chlorine and salt water can sting and irritate the area.

❤️Skin Soothing and Care
✅Keep it loose: Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing to prevent rubbing and irritation.
✅Hydrate correctly: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser (like aloe vera) or a tea-tree based lotion to soothe redness.
✅Do not touch: Refrain from scratching or touching the waxed area with your hands to avoid introducing bacteria.
✅Skip exfoliation: Wait at least 3 to 4 days before gently exfoliating to prevent ingrown hairs.

Children's Heartbeat are dedicated to supporting children and young people with heart disease and their families across Northern Ireland. Since 1984, they have provided practical, emotional, and financial assistance, ensuring families feel empowered and cared for at every stage of their journey.
