On 19th March life changed forever for my friend Michelle. She’s a wife and a mother to 4 kids. Healthy and active. Lifted weights 6 days a week, did spin classes, body pump, yoga. After months of struggling with infections, headaches, extreme fatigue and back pain she knew something just wasn’t right. She went for blood tests. That evening, she was urgently called to hospital and admitted straight away because her body was shutting down. She almost died. What she thought would only be a few nights in hospital ended up being 4.5 weeks stay. During that time she was diagnosed with myeloma, a form of blood cancer which is terminal but treatable.

Since then, she goes through weekly chemotherapy and has completed five sessions of radiotherapy. It hasn’t been easy, but every step brings her closer to healing . She is about to face the next stage of treatment — stem cell harvesting and a transplant. This will mean losing her hair and she’s being so incredibly brave about but i know she is petrified.

Not only is michelle a mummy of 4 but she runs her own beauty business which, sadly she has had to temporarily close as she can’t work with the cancer being in her lower back. This has been exceptionally difficult for michelle as she has worked hard for years building her business and is well established and respected within the industry. She would normally be working 9+ hours a day at this stage but instead she has to rest and isn’t even able to walk far before she’s in pain. Then you could say

I want to try to help raise money for michelle to buy herself a human hair wig which cost in excess of £1500. This will help her feel a bit more like herself whilst undergoing this horrendous treatment.

So please help me raise funds for her and make this happen. She would never spend this on herself as she always prioritises her kids. And now she’s not working she just doesn’t have the money for it
