One of the most common questions I get is ‘how soon after surgery can I have lymphatic drainage?’ - the answer depends on the procedure you’ve had, your individual healing process and most importantly, your surgeons advice!
⚠️ These are general guidelines and should never replace your surgeons aftercare instructions
Lymphatic drainage can help support the body’s natural healing process, reduce swelling, and improve comfort during recovery when performed at the appropriate stage.

Proud to be a Registered Nurse 🤍
Today, on International Nurses Day, I’m celebrating the heart, strength, and compassion that nurses bring to every patient, every shift, every single day.
Being part of the post-op community means showing up when people are at their most vulnerable, helping them heal, rebuild, and move forward. That’s something I’ll never take for granted.
To every nurse out there: your care matters, your skill matters, and you matter more than you know.
Here’s to the long shifts, the quiet moments, the teamwork, and the lives we touch along the way.
Proud to stand alongside you all 💫
Yaaaaaas lymphatic drainage is the one 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 in a recent interview 👏🏼

SWELL HELL 😈
Why do we swell after surgery?
Swelling after surgery isn’t random, and it isn’t your body “doing something wrong.”
It’s part of the healing process.
When you have surgery, your body goes into protection mode:
• Blood flow increases
• Inflammatory cells rush to the area
• Fluid builds up to cushion and repair tissue
At the same time, your lymphatic system (the system responsible for draining excess fluid) has been disrupted. Tiny lymph vessels are cut during surgery, so fluid can’t move as efficiently.
The result?
✨ Puffiness
✨ Tightness
✨ Heaviness
✨ Fluctuating swelling that comes and goes
And here’s the part no one talks about enough:
Swelling is NOT linear.
It can peak weeks after surgery. It can look worse before it looks better. It can change day to day.
That doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your results.
It means your body is healing.
Supporting your recovery with compression, gentle movement, hydration, and manual lymphatic drainage can help your body clear excess fluid more efficiently.
Be patient with yourself. Swell hell is temporary — your results aren’t. 🫶🏼🩷
