Gorgeous Laura! 😍 When you book a professional makeup artist for your wedding - we will always do a trial in advance to make sure we know exactly what we are doing . When Laura came for her trial, it was before she had decided on the dress and when it came to the big day itself - we decided that the ultra glam bronze smokey eye perhaps wasn't the perfect match to her incredible soft blush, romantic gown.

The dress was so stunning, opulent, detailed...and BIG! We decided less was more with the makeup so we completely stripped everything back, focusing on fresh yet flawless skin, a dreamy blush toned shadow with the focus on the lashes and liner to emphasise her dazzling blue eyes and paired it with a glossy n**e lip, for understated glamour.

Now, as a general rule - never wing it on the day if you can help it! BUT when unexpected things happen its good to have a professional on hand who can think on their feet and make you feel 100% confident the whole look works as a package to make you look and feel the ultimate version of yourself.

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you are all well and had an amazing Christmas? Remember me? Your local makeup magician who hasn't updated his social media for 6 months? Oh well, as much as I would like to be all things to all people I do only have one pair of hands....as good as I am with them 😉

I had a flat out 2023 with many beautiful brides, makeup lessons and special occasion makeups alongside moving into a very exciting role with the gorgeous as their head of education and managing our team of fabulous MUA'S, training our stockists and hosting many in house masterclasses nationwide!

My cuban heels have barely touched the ground but I've had a lot of fun and I've been delighted to help so many people look and feel the ultimate version of themselves. 😍

Having some time off over the holidays has allowed me time to reflect and as we move into the new year I will be scaling back my availability for my bridal work quite a bit to allow me to focus on my other commitments and 1-2-1 makeup lessons in salon .cals

I'm James McKnight, a makeup artist with almost 20 years experience. I specialise in Bridal and special occasion makeup and my mantra is "The ultimate version of you." I primarily cover Solihull, Birmingham and the West Midlands but often travel where needed.

I am also an experienced makeup educator having worked with many makeup brands both internationally and all over the UK, empowering hundreds of teams and individual clients to become their own makeup artist.

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are well and had a fabulous bank holiday weekend?

I had back to back weddings and a big birthday makeup group to do so not much sleep but I'm delighted to have left a trail of very happy, very gorgeous ladies 🤣

Due to my availability (or lack of it!) I will be increasing my minimum booking size for bridal work in peak season up to 5 people (including the bride) from September this year. I don't particularly wish to increase my prices per person however this means I will only be taking on larger bridal bookings once this years wedding season starts to wind down.

I will still be happy to take on my current minimum booking size of 3 makeups including the bride until September for any brides who book in with deposits between now and then so if you or someone you know is getting married soon please do get in touch to secure your date especially if you have a smaller wedding party.

Stepping into a new week like 😍

I had the pleasure of doing beautiful Laura's makeup for her wedding on Saturday and couldn't wait to share her beautiful soft bridal look!

Soft blush and pink tones with my signature, glowing flawless skin. I am seeing this as an asked for look this year and many brides are opting for this colour palette rather than the classic neutral or warmer toned shades.

I'm totally here for it! Its super feminine, super sexy and super gorgeous while still remaining classic and wearable.
