I know, I know, some of you like a dark spray tan!
But not every solution is for every skin type, and it should be a red flag if there's no consultation or advice on what will suit your skin tone!

If you Google "Fitzpatrick Scale" you will find a quiz which will tell you what your skin tone is.
Skin type 1 being the fairest, and skin type 6 being the deepest.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't put a "dark" spray tan on a skin type 1 or 2, because it's not going to look natural. It will likely look muddy, and potentially with some orange/red undertones.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've talked someone out of going for the darkest option, and they have thanked me for it. Your undertone also matters! Everyone has a different undertone and that works well with different types and bases of tan.

I know you think I'm mean by telling you to not wear deodorant on tan day, but I'm actually being kind! Promise!

Guess what? You will end up with GREEN armpits if you put deodorant on. Yes, even if you put it on in the morning and your tan is at 8pm. Even if you've "washed it off" since then, or just put a little bit on.

I know we all learn by experience and it shows 🤣❤️ because once someone does it once, they dont do it again.
Usually the green washes off - thank goodness but it's not guaranteed, and what will likely happen is there will be some patchiness where the deodorant has been.

Smelly armpits over green armpits! I don't care if you smell, honest. It's the sacrifice we make for a spray tan! 🥰
