Loud motorbikes tearing through the town centre all day and night, revving, popping exhausts, setting off car alarms. You can't shop, you can't have a coffee, you can't even hear yourself think.
we had SO many messages from people saying they’re sick of it. Elderly shoppers covering their ears, kids getting scared, businesses saying it’s constant.
This isn’t about hating bikes — it’s about respect. Our town centre should be peaceful for everyone.

Planning Application 25/0269 for a Star Flyer tower and log flume at South Pier has been REFUSED.
The Pier Company said these rides are ESSENTIAL to pay for the maintenance of a Victorian pier that is literally rotting into the sea. That without new income, the pier can't survive.
The Council's reason? It's "west of the tram tracks" and against policy.
The same Council that ordered the last log flume to be ripped down.
The same Council that let the Terrace Bar at Central Pier fight for 3 YEARS to stay open.
We have 3 piers left in the country that matter, and ours are on the Heritage AT RISK list, but we are refusing investment because of an imaginary line on a map.
Tourists don't come to Blackpool for a planning policy. They come for rides, noise, and a bit of thrill.
If we wanted a quiet, empty promenade we would move to Lytham.
What do you think? Is the Council protecting Blackpool's heritage, or killing it?

WILL BLACKPOOL IMPORT SAND TO SAVE OUR BEACHES? 🌊🧱
With accelerating sand loss threatening the foundations of our historic piers, Blackpool Council's £57 million Beach Management Scheme is a massive talking point for our town's tourism and business community.
While the main plan relies on building 17 rock headlands to naturally trap sand, what happens if a severe winter storm wipes it all out?
According to project details, the council is prepared to take direct action. If extreme weather strips the beach, they will look to actively import up to 10,000 cubic meters of sand and gravel at a time from licensed offshore sites to manually "top up" the bays between the headlands.
To pull off a massive logistics operation like this without disrupting the Golden Mile, the council will be relying on marine engineering specialists and environmental experts. These specialists will ensure the imported sand matches our unique coastline and is delivered efficiently—potentially even using ships to drop materials directly from the sea rather than clogging up our roads with trucks.
It’s a massive undertaking, but absolutely vital for protecting the structural integrity of the piers that bring millions of visitors to our local economy every year.
What are your thoughts on this? As a business owner or resident, do you think these new sea defences will do the trick? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇
