Fourteen days until Christmas and the nation splits neatly into two tribes. One group jingles through December with the stamina of a powered-up elf. The other group quietly drifts into a festive trance while pretending to listen to extended family. Both are valid survival strategies.

If you happen to be in the second camp, at least you can look immaculate while dissociating next to the mince pies. If you are in the first camp, feel free to gloat.

Night time skincare routines vary wildly. Some people layer their serums with the dedication of a Michelin chef. Others remember to cleanse only because they spot yesterday’s mascara clinging on like a bad ex. In Blackpool both groups walk through my door, and both can have great skin with the right plan.

Skin repairs itself while you sleep, so what you do before your head hits the pillow genuinely matters. If your routine currently resembles a lucky dip in the bathroom cabinet, it might be time to simplify and personalise it.

I forget that most people in Blackpool only ever see the clinic side of me and not the human who has lived about seven different lives so far. It felt right to open the curtains a little and show you the person behind the needles.
