Before everyone starts panicking… here’s my take.

Yes, TPO is being phased out, but some of the headlines have made it sound a lot scarier than it actually is.

The studies that led to this change involved rats being fed very large quantities of TPO. That isn’t the same as having tiny amounts in a cured nail product.

The bigger risk we see in salons is poor application. Uncured gel repeatedly touching the skin is far more likely to lead to allergies and sensitisation than the concerns these headlines are suggesting.

This isn’t an overnight ban on salon services either. Manufacturers and distributors have deadlines to stop supplying TPO products, and many reputable brands have already reformulated. As professionals, we’re already making the switch too.

So please don’t panic or cancel your appointments. You’re in safe hands and we’ve got you covered. 🤍
