Soul To Skin Yoga

Cancer season so far..sun transiting through my fourth house as I find myself immersed with family, returning to my ancestral lands, reconnecting with places, feelings and memories that are sometimes held in those most intimate environments in which we’ve been moulded.

Cancer season always overwhelms me with emotions, perhaps my already watery nature is intensified by the sun’s transit and nostalgia levels are high. Every streak, flower, rolling mountainous landscape and song seem to speak to the parts of the soul that are the most tender and guarded. The crab’s protective shell slowly opens up to touch and experience that which feels nourishing, inviting the heart to feel deeply and explore pathways carved in what seems to be primordial ancient waters.

Wide open, nostrils filled with the sweet aroma of wild thyme, in the haze of the full moon, swimming in a waking dream 🌕

What a glorious return of the sun just in time for all the adventures. The past few days have been like a dream, on very little sleep, sunrises and sunsets, bathed in golden light and soaking up all the delights of my favourite 💛

Life in technicolour. Fragrant wild flowers saluting us on our walks. The silky blue waters offering relief from the heat as we feel her pinching embrace. Little jays showing up everywhere and cheeky magpies never being too far away. Juicy fruit quenching our thirst and rehydrating our skin.

What a sweet life. Enamoured. Thank you 🌞🌞🌞

In May I attended a beautiful 4-day Closing the Bones training with Dr Japjeet Kaur - Leicester UK Dr Japjeet Rajbir Kaur - ShuniyaYoga which left me so full, inspired and more connected to the deep knowing I’m here to serve and honour women. Japjeet guided us beautifully through the history and traditions of this sacred practice mainly preserved in South America and taught by Mexican midwives. We went back in time where this care was offered all over the world to mothers and women by the grandmothers of the communities. It wasn’t something that needed to be taught in trainings, it was passed down generationally and women knew how to take care of one another and how to honour their sisters through life’s initiations.

As so many other things, this has been forgotten and wiped out of our modern day lives yet it’s what we need more than ever. A container where we are held and nourished whether it’s after birth, during labour or as we navigate other important rites of passage.

To be fully seen, accepted and tended to with such exceptional care and love is a true gift. A gift I wish for every woman, mother and grandmother. For every being.

So grateful for the beautiful group of women I got to connect and learn with, for Japjeet’s wealth of knowledge, wisdom and reverence for the practice and for all the threads that I can feel are being woven.

I’ll be offering Closing the Bones over the coming months and adding it my website after spending some time practicing and deepening into the fabrics of Cerrada. So honoured to be offering this work and creating cocoons for women to drop into and unravel.

The May Queen and the horned god meet once again in their passionate embrace.

A celebration of fertility, growth and s*x.
The Earth is ripe and alive, everything around us is blooming and we come to remember that we’re not separate from her cycles.
Just like the rest of nature, we enter our cycle of fertility.
Of growing the seeds we’ve been tending to all winter. We allow for hope and joy to prevail.
We emerge from our shells.
We gather once again in community.
In reverence to the elements, to the spiral of life and to the miracle that is this time of the year.
Every year as if for the first time, the magic of rebirth astonishes and leaves us in awe.
Go make love with life, your lovers, the earth.
Make each moment drip with honey.
Let the fires burn bright 🔥💚🌞
