It’s 2025, and it’s time for hairdressers to stop apologising for wanting more.

For too long, this industry has been weighed down by outdated mindsets — that we should stay “humble,” charge “what feels fair,” or be grateful just to be busy. But here’s the truth: the world has moved on, and so must we.

We are no longer in an era where charging £60 for a three-hour service makes sense.
We are artists. We are chemists. We are educators, therapists, business owners, and innovators — all in one.
And in 2025, we are finally owning that.

Product costs have skyrocketed.
The education required to stay ahead is constant and expensive.
Client expectations are higher than ever.
And the emotional and physical toll? Still rarely spoken about.

And yet, we’re still being questioned — for raising prices, for calling what we do “art,” or for daring to want a profit in our business.

But let’s be clear: this isn’t greed. This is survival. This is sustainability. This is finally creating a business that supports our lives, not the other way around.

To every hairdresser still holding back from raising your prices because you’re scared of judgement, you don’t owe anyone an explanation.
To every stylist burnt out from giving your all and still barely making ends meet, this is your permission to stop normalising struggle.

We are allowed to thrive.
We are allowed to grow.
