I am very pleased to announce I am now a member of the JCCP. This stands for The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners and is a registered UK charity that has been established to develop a formal register of professional practitioners in the fields of non-surgical cosmetic procedures and to provide reliable information for the public.

On the JCCP website you can find information on a range of different types of cosmetic procedures, a registered practitioner and education or training providers that meet the JCCP standards. Essentially it is a organisation created to safeguard patients against receiving substandard care within the aesthetics industry, acting as a point of contact for any queries or concerns and a place where formal complaints can be lodged against practitioners. To become a member you must meet professional standards criteria and follow the joint code of practice that has been created for patient safety. It is the closest thing to a regulating body for the aesthetics industry which we all know is currently very unregulated.

In my NHS job I am regulated by the GMC whom ensure safe practice is being carried out by doctors, therefore the JCCP plays a similar role but in my aesthetics practice and I am pleased to now hold this membership so patients can be sure I am a trustworthy practitioner who seeks to have a regulating body to ensure safety within the aesthetics industry. This membership is for the benefit of my patients more so than myself. Patient safety is my absolute priority.
