This week, over coffee with my wonderful friend Galia, we got chatting to two remarkable women in their late seventies. They told us stories of being Tiller Girls, dating pop stars and living lives that felt straight out of a film. What struck me though wasn't their stories, it was that both women kept apologising for telling them. "I don't want to sound like I'm bragging," one said. Listening to them made me realise something. No matter our age or achievements, so many of us carry the same burden of self doubt.

Their stories made me think about Olive & Joyce and the countless times I've questioned myself, wondered if I was good enough or considered giving up. What they reminded me is this: confidence isn't the absence of doubt, it's refusing to let doubt make your decisions for you. Sometimes bravery is simply carrying on 🤍

This weekend my beautiful boy turns 10, which honestly feels both lovely and slightly rude because I’m fairly certain he was four about five minutes ago.

Every year I write my children a letter about their latest year and this time, whilst filling in the blanks with my son, I turned and watched him glow with genuine pride hearing the story of himself, the kindness he shows people and the lovely person he is becoming.

And honestly, it made me realise how rarely we do that for ourselves.
