been asking on my stories about the price we charge for nails…

with hair, services are usually priced per hour so highlights would be double the price of a haircut because it takes double the amount of time

but why with nails if a plain gel takes one hour and crazy nail art takes two hours we only add around £5-£10?

we spend hundreds (if not thousands) on products/training and hours on our social media but are scared to charge properly for our time

every nail tech I know works crazy hours and spends time outside of the working day designing original concepts

it makes me sad seeing the MOST talented nail techs painting literal art on a 2cm space but it’s not valued in a fair way

and that’s not even including the fact that we need to calculate prices based on the cost of our own labour > so charging an extra £5 for an hour is less than minimum wage

saying that, I get terrified to ever raise prices because I’m worried I’ll lose clients…. Or I won’t be able to be as creative because people won’t want to pay more for art leaving us in a catch 22

So I LOVE my regulars who have stuck around for every price increase ✨

rant over…but let’s normalise talking about money and the value of our work
