A Mermaid's Secret

Today marks 14 years since I officially started A Mermaid’s Secret! 🧜‍♀️✨

​Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much things have evolved. What started as a beauty, nails, waxing, and massage business has grown into a specialized focus on massage and holistic therapy.

​I’ve spent the day reflecting on this journey—where I started, where the business is today, and where I want to take it in the future. Over the years, I’ve ridden the waves of growth: going from part-time to full-time, collaborating with other amazing businesses, expanding, and eventually choosing to scale back down to just me. Making that shift allowed me to ensure that every single client gets my full, undivided attention.

​Reflecting on the thousands of clients I’ve had the privilege to work with brings such a massive smile to my face. I feel so much pride and joy knowing I’ve helped people truly relax mentally, find relief from physical pain, or learn daily habits to prevent injuries.

​To all of my clients over the years: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Some of you have been with me since Day 1 and still come in monthly for your regular treatments. I appreciate your loyalty and support more than words can say.

​Without you all, I wouldn't be here doing what I love. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us! 🥂

KEEPING IT REAL 🤍

​Behind every small business is a human, so I wanted to share a little update on the face behind the massage table.

​Being a self-employed, introverted therapist working from a home salon is an absolute dream. I’m going to be honest though—it comes with its challenges! I manage a permanent metabolic condition, alongside a stubborn knee injury that makes sitting or standing for too long a bit of a balancing act.

​But here’s the thing: I LOVE what I do. And if my amazing clients' reviews and return rates are anything to go by, I’m pretty darn good at it too! 🥹

​Like so many others, I navigate S.A.D. every winter. I tend to hibernate, lay low, and don't always have a lot to post about. So, I usually count down the days until March when the clocks spring forward and the daylight returns! ☀️

​This year, however, spring threw some major curveballs. Since March, I’ve been juggling a personal medical issue alongside a couple of family incidents that required me to step up and support the people I love. It’s been a lot.

​But we are now in mid-May, and things are looking up! 🌸

​The weather is warming up, the days are beautifully long, summer is officially on the horizon—and yes, that cruise holiday I’ve been buzzing about since November is finally getting close! 🚢

​I am so incredibly ready and looking forward to the rest of 2026. Onwards and upwards! Yay! 🥂✨
