One of the clearest symptoms of an industry built on the labour, skill, and intelligence of working-class women is how deeply it is misrepresented and misunderstood by the public. When power, wealth, and visibility sit far away from the realities of this work, it becomes easier for privileged voices to speak about the industry rather than listen to the women holding it together. This allows harmful narratives to form narratives that push down on the very women who need support, respect, and protection the most. This video isn’t for people committed to misunderstanding or defending their ego at all costs. It’s for the women who are continually undervalued, underrepresented, talked over, bullied, manipulated, gaslit, provoked, mocked, and judged and then told they’re “too sensitive” or “triggered” for reacting. You are not wrong for feeling strongly. And maybe it’s even for anyone willing to look beyond defensiveness, question what they’ve been taught, and reflect on how internalised misogyny and classism show up ... Real empowerment doesn’t come from status or proximity to power.
