A day well spent during my 5 Hour 1:1 Mentoring Session teaching Melissa Shenton | Lash Artist Yatton 👩🏼🎓📚
Mel travelled over 4 hours to train with me which truly means the world 🥺
Our main topic was symmetry and direction, focusing on wrist movements, attachment, fan consistency and working in layers.
With our model we opted for my signature Textured Hybrid Set. I really wanted Mel to take her time creating each fan so when she attached they remained open and consistent throughout. This is KEY for symmetry and creating a beautiful overall look.
My favourite thing about teaching is sharing my experiences with other artists so that they can go away and better their skills and businesses.
When I hear “omg I never knew that”, “no one has shown me this before” or “I’ve learnt so much I feel like a beginner again” just makes me the happiest 🤍✨

Let’s take a moment for May ❤️🕊️
✨ Bank holiday away in a field, was exactly what we needed
✨ Went on an incredible workshop in London which im going to be telling you all about on an upcoming podcast episode 🤭
✨ Lots of recording for the podcast, I even travelled up to london to a studio to record two guests.. one of those being Hanna 👀
✨ Created content that went absolutely viral 🤯
✨ Created beautiful sets of lashes for my clients
✨ Spent the last bank holiday seeing my bestie and spending it with my family eating and drinking
✨We went up to West Ham for Jacks grandad who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. We had a special tribute for him and it was a day he would have been proud of (not the football outcome) but the fact we were all there together 🤍
May truly has got beautiful highlights that I’ve captured 📸 but I want to be real with you too..
A few weeks back I was feeling fed up, I was finding it hard to see where I was heading or if I was going to be gaining anything from all the work I’ve been putting in. I was in that ‘quiet, middle phase’ where it’s just you pounding it and not really seeing if it’s going anywhere.
But I’m through it, last week I started to see it paying off, getting incredible feedback and now working with beautiful people in the industry. I’m glad I didn’t give up (that was never on the cards) but you know the thought you get of ‘what’s the point in all this?’ We all have those moments 😂
If your having a moment where you feel stuck or you don’t think your getting any where.. keep going. Keep pounding and that compound effect will happen! What you’re working so hard for right now you will benefit in weeks or months to come. Just don’t give up 🤍
Hope you all had a a great month. June is literally round the corner 🌼🌻
Join me on my Mini Vlog as a podcaster 🎙️🎧
On Monday I travelled up to London to record 2 episodes for my podcast , my first time travelling to film and I have to say.. I over packed 🤭
I absolutely loved the conversations, I actually adored the whole day 🥺. My podcast is growing every single day, I’m truly proud of what I am creating!
I created this podcast to be able to create a space for all beauty professionals to feel connected, less alone and to have the conversations I wish I had in the beginning. Every conversation I’ve had so far I’ve learnt so much from and I know you guys (the listeners) have been truly inspired and gained so much for your businesses - that makes it truly worth doing.
Thank you for supporting me and coming on this magical ride with me ✨
Probably the best feeling for your client when she knows the masterpiece has finished with the last brush 🤭
I do avoid brushing the lashes during the treatment.. I probably only brush once during application. The reason being is, if you brush to quickly after applying that’s when your going to get stickies as your glue is still wet and it’s going to cost you time trying to resolve it 🫣
So whenever I get my mascara wand out and give them a brush my clients always know I’ve finished.
Isn’t this feeling just the best?

My mumma 🤍 my favourite human but has the most trickiest lashes to lift and makes me wanna have a tantrum every time I do them 😅 we all have the one person right?
Now let’s assess her lash line in the before:
✨ Multi layered layers
✨ Downward pointing
✨ Thick and coarse
Not forgetting STUBBORN as hell and never wanna stick to the shield 😂
We giggle because I always say she is the best person to practice on because if I can lift hers I can lift anyones!
We have recently switched to Korean Lash Lift and we are getting WOW results every. single. time.
This lift is using Hybrid Korean Lash Lift System and their Jam Balm worked a treat when applying the lashes to the flat shield. Made the whole process so much easier 👏🏻 the results were gorgeoussss!
My mums lashes are always so tricky so I filmed it, would you like to see the step by step? (Even the moments where I wanted a tantrum😂) Let me know in the comments 👇🏻

Meet Sofie 👱♀️.. (my Imposter Syndrome lil voice)
It’s funny.. because even though I sometimes have this little niggly voice telling me I’m not good enough, or that I’m not as good as what people may think.. it’s my driving force to do everything to prove myself wrong 🤭
Without it I don’t think I would be as driven, as motivated and as determined to make something of myself.
When I was younger, in my early 20s it use to eat me up. I would criticise myself, pick my work apart, compare my work to others and think I shouldn’t be in the same rooms as them. I use to worry that I wouldn’t live up to peoples expectations in this industry.
But, the more I do the scary things, the more I put myself out there - the more I realise I am enough, just being me 🤍
And that lil voice gets quieter 🤫
I’ve learnt that confidence comes from doing it. The more you experience the more you train your mind that it’s ok and you can do anything you put your mind too!
So even when ‘Sofie’ creeps in, it’s ok to hear it. But I wont let her decide what I’m capable of ✨
What little voice bothers you?

Thank youuuuu for the inspo for this post ✨
Testing out Hybrid Korean Lash Lift System.. and this is what I think 👇🏻
At first I over thought it 🤭 because it’s mentioned as a ‘faster’ system I was checking the lashes more regularly than I would normally, making me waste time. But at the beginning I think when testing anything new it’s best to be over cautious then not.
But I didn’t need to worry, the system is still as gentle as ever. By my second client I was leaving it to do its thing without a worry 😄
What I loved about this, is the consistency of the solution. It’s thick and creamy even without the powder, I literally only add a tiny sprinkle of it. It was easy to apply, didn’t move and I felt like I had real control of it. No over processing here 🙅🏼♀️
The next thing I loved was the 1ml sachets. Sometimes with the 0.5 sachets - depending on the client, I have to open another. So the bigger sachet worked a treat 👏🏻
Now let’s talk about timings.. It’s a hard one. Because every client is different and I’m always adapting my timings to what the lash needs. So I can’t say it took me ‘12 mins or 10 mins’ because it’s never the same 😅
What I did notice is that during my lash checks I could see the hair softening, looking more flexible faster. I found that around 12-15 minutes most the hair was softened in step one, but I did apply more solution to the lashes that needed more time. I am a bit of a perfectionist so if a few lashes need more time.. I will give it to them 🤭
Overall I really enjoyed using the system, the results were beautiful!
