🌿 Welcome to Shoulder Opening Week
This week we’re giving our shoulders some well-deserved love! 💚
As we know, life often leaves us with rounded shoulders from driving, working at desks, using phones, or simply carrying stress.
Throughout this week we’ll do poses that’ll:-
• Improve posture
• Increase shoulder mobility
• Better breathing
• Reduce neck and upper back tension

Sometimes I sit and think why yoga teaching ? It’s not a mega money making business- it’s not a physical product for sale- it’s not for everyone…
And my conclusion every time is the same.
🌻I get to meet so many wonderful people. Like minded people with a common interest and connection to feel good.
🤸🏾♀️I have some amazing people in my life, through yoga, who I am humbled to call friends!
✨ I get to help build a community with others, togetherness!
🧘🏽I get to help people explore their mind- body connection and to be grateful with what their body can do- to stretch and to flex! To prevent stiffness that comes with every day life stressors.
🙏🏼I get to enjoy practising yoga each and every day.
This week has been filled with gratitude with invites for brunch, tea and cake together, feedback, lots of yoga practice …and this is exactly what yoga teaching means to me …❤️

✨ This Week in Class: Yoga to help reduce Inflammation ✨
Did you know that gentle yoga may help support the body’s natural response to inflammation?
Throughout this week we’ll be moving mindfully through a sequence designed to:

🌱 Reduce physical tension
🌱 Calm the nervous system
🌱 Support joint mobility
🌱 Leave you feeling refreshed and restored
Inflammation isn’t always visible. It can show up as aching joints, stiffness, fatigue or feeling generally run down. Gentle movement, mindful breathing and deep relaxation can all help support your wellbeing.

Our knees work hard every day, carrying us through life, yet they are often overlooked until they become uncomfortable.
This week we’ll be exploring movements that help:
✨ Strengthen the muscles that support the knees
✨ Improve flexibility in the hips and ankles
✨ Build balance and stability
✨ Increase awareness of healthy alignment
✨ Support joint health and confidence in movement
Remember, yoga isn’t about forcing your body into shapes—it’s about learning to move with kindness, awareness and ease.
Whether your knees are happy, stiff, creaky, or somewhere in between, there will be options for everyone.

✨Cooling breathe work✨
Sitali Pranayama..
Sit comfortably with a straight spine.
👅 Curl your tongue lengthwise so the edges meet in the center. Stick the tip of your tongue slightly out through your lips. Or press your flat tongue against the back of your top teeth.
Inhale deeply, as if you were sipping from a straw.
Close the mouth
Exhale gently through nostrils.
Repeat 5-10 times
Feel cool!

Hi, I’m Sam and have been practising Iyengar yoga now for 15+ years..
When I decided to become a teacher, I was really fascinated by the anatomy of yoga…how different moves can improve posture, physical movement and energy levels - how a slight tweak to your pose can take you deeper into it..
The Mind-Body connection!
You’ll very rarely see me in any of my classes/ workshops without chairs, blocks, belts, bolsters to help with alignment, so it becomes accessible to all.
I used to love high energetic yoga that challenged me, and it’s taken me a few years to know that restorative is equally as needed!
I now love breathwork and teach this in school too, especially around exam stress! .. Once you learn to belly breathe- extend your exhale, you really can take a lot of bodily stress away!
One last thing is my love community yoga, getting to know each other… being with like-minded people who love yoga and having fun too!!
