At the LESS IS MORE Open Lab in Vienna this weekend, we were extremely privileged to attend a one-on-one perfume workshop with Dr Doris Brandhuber, founder of Austrian Organic brand Less is More.  Dr Brandhuber is an environmental consultant, PhD chemist and certified aromatherapist and is one of the few perfumers worldwide specialising in perfumes made from natural essences. 

Our 5-hour workshop allowed us to choose from approximately 60 pure essential oils and essences, with the practice of using a simple fragrance composition of base, heart, and top notes. With the expert nose and advise of Dr Brandhuber, we were able to create a perfume recipe and formula, which was subsequently mixed in an attractive glass perfume bottle.

It was an incredible experience.  Still can't believe the end result was my own personal fragrance which smelt no different to one that had been professionally made.

We are hoping to welcome Dr Brandhuber to the Cambridge store this Autumn  (fingers crossed), where we will hold a perfume workshop for the Cambridge/UK crowd.
