Just a quick post to let you all know I’m baaack! I was on sick leave from work since February and have just returned to work only recently for a couple of weeks. I wasn’t sleeping well and felt anxious and needed an intervention. Thankfully is incredible and I got all the support I needed from an incredible team in . I feel so incredibly lucky 🍀 this is your friendly reminder to invest in self care. Good sleep is so important and you are worth it! So go ahead book that facial, go for the massage and get that haircut! Life is too short not to feel your best!💆‍♀️ 🧖‍♀️ 💇‍♀️ And here’s to me coming back stronger and fiercer than ever! German Potato Salad with @maxlamanna 🥔 It’s been a while since I cooked something from home, but when @maxlamanna was keen to see what vegan food Germany has to offer, we couldn’t resist and make one of the most classic dishes of all. A proper German potato salad. Surprisingly, the southern-styled German potato salad (almost) happens to be vegan… traditionally it is made with beef stock, but using veg stock instead is an easy substitute without losing the characteristic flavours from the potatoes, vinegar and mustard. But besides flavour, it is the texture that makes a good potato salad. And it has to be schlonzig! What does that mean? It’s a sensory mark of approval that properly cooked potatoes have been mixed with the correct amount of hot stock at the right temperature so that they soak up all of the flavours without turning into mush. When used for food, schlonzig describes an ideal consistency for a creamy starchy dish like risotto… or a potato salad.
