The short answer is... not straight away.

After dermal filler treatment, your skin has tiny injection points that need a little time to heal. Waiting 24–48 hours before applying makeup may help reduce irritation and lower the risk of introducing bacteria.

It surprises a lot of people.

Although the terms are often used interchangeably, they can describe different changes in your hair.

Hair thinning usually develops gradually. You may notice your hair feels finer, your parting becomes wider, or you've lost some of the volume you once had.

It can be linked to genetics, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, certain medical conditions, or the natural ageing process.

Hair loss, on the other hand, often refers to increased shedding. You might notice more hair on your pillow, in the shower, or on your hairbrush than usual.

This can sometimes happen after illness, surgery, childbirth, significant weight loss, or a period of prolonged stress. In some cases, the shedding improves once the underlying trigger has resolved.

The most important thing to remember is that the cause determines the treatment.

𝗟𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 doesn't usually happen because of a single reason.

It can be influenced by factors such as your natural lip anatomy, the amount of filler used over time, product selection, injection technique and how your own tissues respond to treatment.

That's why I never recommend adding more filler without first carrying out a thorough assessment. Sometimes the best option is simply to monitor, while in other cases a different treatment approach may be more appropriate.

Every pair of lips is unique, so every treatment plan should be, too.
