“What hours do you work?”

The short answer? My diary says one thing… my heart says another.

Being self-employed means setting your own hours… but it also means caring deeply about your clients. Sometimes that means starting early, finishing late, squeezing someone in before a holiday, or giving up part of a weekend because you know how much it means to them.

People often think self-employed means you can work whenever you want. The reality is, you often work whenever you’re needed.

Behind every treatment is the admin, ordering stock, training, social media, accounts, cleaning, replying to messages, and all the things that happen long after the clinic door closes.

I love what I do, I love my clients, and I genuinely appreciate every single person who chooses to support my small business.

Today I experienced my first needle stick injury while working in aesthetics.

Did I panic? No.

Needle stick injuries are an occupational risk whenever you’re working with sharps. They can happen to anyone, regardless of experience. The important thing is knowing exactly what to do.

I immediately:
- Encouraged the wound to bleed gently
- Washed it thoroughly with soap and running water
-Applied a waterproof dressing
- Assessed the risk, documented the incident, and followed the appropriate post-exposure protocol

As healthcare professionals, we’re trained for situations like this. Staying calm, acting quickly, and following the correct guidance is what protects you.

Thankfully, I’m absolutely fine, but I wanted to share this as a reminder that even experienced injectors can have accidents. Good sharps handling, safe disposal, and knowing your protocol are all part of practising safely.

No shame. No panic. Just good clinical practice.

Probably THE most common question I get asked.

The Bio Aesthetics Points (𝘽𝘼𝙋) 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 was originally developed for skin boosters, providing more natural and even results.

Using the 𝘽𝘼𝙋 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 - five strategic points of the face are measured to deliver the skin booster. This technique allows for optimal diffusion across the skin which maximises results and reduces discomfort.

When using the 𝘽𝘼𝙋 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in the skin booster diffuses deep into the skin, helping to hydrate the dermis which improves skin texture and laxity.
