Here the link to see the current design proposals for Cambridge Market Square. After many consultations it seems the powers that be have not listened to what traders and the public would like to see - well designed permanent open stalls, as we have now, in a robustly designed space that provides for all our practical needs.

To give feedback on the proposals to the council see the link in our previous post. Tell the council what you think of the scale, location and appearance of the 36 kiosks (hint: in no way suitable for use by the majority of existing traders and not in-keeping with an historic market square). Also let them know that setting up as many as 64 gazebos 7 days a week just does not make sense.

Hello friends of Cambridge Market!

The final public consultation on the future of Cambridge market is happening now. Have your say before Sunday 22nd June. Let the powers that be know that for a 7 day a week market to function traders need permanent open stalls (much like the stalls we know and love now!) robust, well designed, multifunctional. Unhelpfully there’s no images in the survey of the design as it stands. Safe to say it is an uninspiring mix of kiosks and gazebos and would destroy Cambridge market as we know it.

Here’s the link to the survey. It begins with question on the redevelopment of the guildhall and the corn exchange. It’s hard to find the link button - it’s a pop up at the bottom of the screen.
